“Friendly, clean and good sized room”
Reviewed 27 June 2011

Stayed here for the first time for the weekend. Room on third floor was large and distant views of castle and sea. Room was clean and comfy bed.

Breakfast was ample (and I like a large breakfast), well cooked and choice on menu was good (my wife enjoyed the lighter selection).

Room Tip: Room 321, large and distant view of castle and se.

This is the place to stay in Scarborough. The Belvoir room is enormous, with large comfortable bed, sofa, chairs, ironing board, etc. - all you could want. The bathroom is modern with a fabulous large roll top bath, a really good big shower and a shaving stand in front of the large window overlooking the gardens,. All the little extras that make your stay that bit special.

The staff are extremely helpful and ready to meet any requests you might have. The hotel is close to the shopping area and the beach and an easy walk to the majority of restaurants. The parking permit will cost GBP4 for a 28 hour period and considering the close proximity to the shopping area this is very good value compared to other parking costs in other cities.

A very comfortable stay at The Crescent

A very classy hotel in a good location for Scarborough's shops, main roads and station and just 10 mins walk to the beach. For a lovely bright and clean room, delicious breakfast and friendly service the price was great value. The Belvoir room has an amazing balcony and a bath tub that's so big you can go for a swim in it! I'd highly recommend it.

As soon as you arrive at the Crescent you know you made a good choice. It's well situated for Transport Links – Bus / train, Restaurants, Theatre, Shopping, Sea Front and beach.
Personal service is obviously high on the list of priorities for the Crescent and I was made very welcome by all staff – you feel like a customer, rather than one of a crowd.
My Room was a good sized (and very clean) single with plenty of storage space, Flat Screen TV, in room Wi-Fi, and a pleasant view out onto the crescent and gardens from my balcony.
There was also a good sized en-suite bathroom with modern fittings, and again very clean.
Breakfast was served in the “Reflections” restaurant and was adequate with a “help yourself” choice of fruit juices, Fruit, yogurt and water, followed by table service of your choice from the grill including a full or partial English, Kippers, and my favourite of smoked Haddock with poached egg. Washed down with your choice of tea or coffee.
I did not use the restaurant for my evening meal, however the menu looked good and most of the customers I met later in the lounge were local residents and regular users of the Reflections restaurant – speaks for itself really.

Room Tip: the Hotel faces onto The Crescent which is quiet.

The hotel is set on a quiet street, set back from the beach but there are glimpses to be had of the ocean. The hotel offers great value for money when their discounted rates are to be had. I stayed in a superior room , the room was large with high ceilings and views of the gardens to one side. The furniture and bathroom were a little dated (but not tatty) and the room had obviously been recently renovated as the wall papering, curtains and embellishments are all lovely. The bed proved excellent with high quality bedding and mattress. The bar area is warm and welcoming as are the staff. Breakfast was superb, again with warm service and a good quality selection of food. It seems that very often in England you can pay a lot of money for a poky room with no view of the outside room, a fate you are same from if you choose the Crescent.

We wanted a short break in a good quality hotel at a reasonable price.

The Crescent Hotel met all our requirements. We had a superior room, on a corner, which was bright and airy with all the facilities we required, and some more with an iron and ironing board! The room was very clean with decoration in good order.

We booked a half board package and the three course dinners were all very good.Breakfast was plentiful and the traditional english cooked to order. Another refreshing aspect was that the bar and wine list prices were reasonable.

This Hotel is run by the proprietors and it shows. All the staff were friendly and courteous and seemed to be happy in their work.

We had one small niggle and that was that our neighbour seemed to have gone to sleep with the tv on which did result in us having a disturbed night. However there is nothing that can be done in that situation.
