We all enjoyed 'The boy who fell into a book'. Great performances by all involved, fantastic set and wonderful score. With an age range if 3 to 36 within our party, we're not always an easy group to please but this performance did the trick for sure.

Having visited the Crucible in Sheffield many times, The Round didn't disappoint. It's great to be so close up the action.

Our only complaint was that there is no card readers to pay for refreshments with. Make sure you take cash.

Thank Nicolle B

We went twice. First we saw The boy who fell into a book. The second day we saw Cox and Box. Both shows were excellent. The acting was first class. Both were musicals and quite demanding of the both actors and musicians. But the quality was equal to anything we have seen in London. If you are in Scarborough this theatre is a visit not to be missed.

The Stephen Joseph Theatre is a converted Odeon Cimema. Lovely Art Deco façade. Two performance areas, a small auditorium with conventional stage, but the main space is a large modern "in the round" auditorium.
Lovely bar area looking through the Art Deco windows.

A new experience seeing a play 'in the round'. very different idea but very effective you feel part of the play - felt very weird, but very enjoyable. Watched 'Last Train to Scarborough' a world premier hope it goes far.
