Good location for seaside resorts, cottage was well equipped ,the only downside was the bed was too soft for us.Nice pub across the road and fish shop nearby was very good, the locals in the pub were friendly and the food was good.

“Lovely cottage”

We stayed for 3 nights in this cosy cottage set in the pretty village of snainton which is about 9 miles from Scarborough. It is a great place to stay in order to enjoy all that the area has to offer. While there we visited Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Dalby Forest and can recommend them all.
The cottage itself is finished to a high standard and everything is provided including central heating, linen, towels and wifi. The owner was there to meet us and explain about the cottage and also the local area eg where the nearest shops were and to answer any other questions we might have had.
The four poster bed was a really lovely touch but there did seem to be a bit of a dip in the middle of the bed, still very comfortable with the memory foam mattress. The shower had two heads, if you use the bigger one it does tend to wet the floor as its very powerful. The only real down side to the cottage was the noise from the very busy main road that the cottage is set on. However we had read the reviews so already knew this and decided to go anyway, take some ear plugs if you are a light sleeper and it shouldn't be a problem.

“Cosy cottage, handy location”

We stayed here for a long weekend in October. The cottage is very handy for Pickering, Whitby, Scarborough and surrounding areas. The chippy up the road is great - the biggest fish we've ever seen! The cottage itself has everything you need and is very warm and comfortable. As others have noted, there is traffic noise as its right on the main road from Pickering to Scarborough. I was a bit worried about this as I'm a light sleeper, but found the traffic died off during the night. The cottage is obviously old, lovely thick walls and characterful, friendly owner too.

“Cosy cottage”
Reviewed 27 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Stayed for 3 nights and used as a base to see the likes of Whitby and Robin Hood Bay. Cottage was clean and tidy with a homely feel. As others have said the road noise can be annoying but for the time we were actually in it was bearable. My wife and I are both 6 foot tall so the bed was bit on the small size as was the shower headroom. Would be fine for shorter people.
Would definitely recommend the Coachman pub just down the road. Excellent food.

stayed here for 5 nights in July. Owner helpful and easy procedure for key collection etc.
The cottage has everything needed including washing up liquid, bin liners etc which is a bonus as we have stayed in lots of self-catering cottages. Nice crockery, cutlery and towels. Comfy bed too with nice linen. Nice and clean
Road noise can be a bit intrusive (only negative thing about this property). Gorgeous fish and chip shop 60second walk away from cottage.
Visited Go Ape (excellent value for money for the kids) and the golf driiving range just down the road.
20 minute drive into Scarborough.
Lovely part of the world.

“Great location, noisy road”
Reviewed 19 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The location of this cottage is perfect to visit the Moors, lovely surrounding towns and villages and Flamingo Land. If you are looking for a quiet stay or are not used to road noise (we aren't), the road next to the cottage will be very noticeable. After a week, we were starting to get twitchy. We had decided the location was worth the inconvenience of the noise (and were staying in a rural property for the second week), but the noise was more intrusive than we expected. Some of the kitchenware could do with renewing/adding to (eg dilapidated pans/no corkscrew) and the bathroom needs refitting (eg water leaking from the shower over bath onto the floor). But the location makes up for those shortcomings. I would recommend it, but with the caveat about the road noise. The owner was very easy to deal with and efficient about making the key available.
