Had a warm welcome from Irene and were given a room on the top floor. Lots of steps although Irene did offer a lower floor room if there was any problem. The steps were not a problem to us as we were only staying 1 night. The room was spotless and the bathroom was very modern.
Enjoyed a couple of drinks with Ken in the bar in the evening. Full english breakfast the following morning was superb quality served by two young ladies who were extremely attentive. Plenty of toast and tea/coffee aswell served in a lovely room.
Would have liked to have had the option to pay by card but would definitely like to stay at the Selomar again.

Just back from two nights at the selomar,as always ken and irene are the perfect hoasts nothing is to much trouble for them or thier helpfull friendly staff.
Rooms are clean, warm and comfortable and the breakfast is first class.
Looking forward to September for the Gold Cup weekend allready..
Only problem is that the bar could stay open a bit later at night. ( just joking Irene ! ).
Would highly recomend this hotel to anybody.

just got back, after staying 2 nights at the selomar, ihave a teenage son whom has special needs,so we needed a family room, and its the first time we have ever stayed at a guest house with him. the staff were very friendly, very accomadating to our family needs, rooms spotles, and a cooked breakfast that was excellent, with excellent service.i would recommend the selomar.

We stayed at the Selomar Hotel in Scarborough over the Easter weekend 2012 for 3 nights.
Everything about the trip was lovely, Both Ken and Irene were very welcoming, our room was on the top floor and had lovely views of the sea. The room was perfect for our stay very clean, comfy and the bathroom was beautiful. Breakfast was lovely everyday and the staff were so friendly. The hotel was only a five minute walk to the town which was great with having a child. The bar was open on a night and had a lovely family atmosphere. Myself, my husband and son enjoyed the stay and will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Request a sea view if possible the view is breath taking.
