“Great stay”
Reviewed 8 March 2014 via mobile

Stayed here with my family had a great time. Ken and Irene were brilliant gave us all the inside info on where to go, eating out if we wanted. But to be honest after the fab breakfast we only needed a light lunch. The room was fantastic and clean, beautiful views. See you next time hope it wont be to long

Just returned from a two night stay with my husband. We were warmly welcomed and greeted by Ken and Irene. The rooms were very spacious and well cleaned,we also had an excellent view overlooking the bay, which was lovely. All the staff are very polite and welcoming too. The breakfast was done too high standards as well. We shall definitely be returning soon, I Highly recommend this hotel.

Me and my partner stayed in room 10 and I was so disappointed when we got through the door as the room was tiny, The pics of the rooms on the website look fantastic but im betting theres not many that are like that, the ceiling sloped so not good if like us you are tall. The tiny window was in the far corner so unless u bent down at the end of the room you couldn't see out at all so it made it very dark, the bed was very small aswell definitely not a double. The bathroom was very modern but the shower pressure was terrible.
The noise was the worst part every time the people in the adjoining room run the tap or used there shower the pipes made a shocking groaning noise in our bathroom which could be heard in our room unfortunately for us the people in the adjoin room awoke and showered at 6am so we were woken up every morning.
the family that was staying in the room opposite us were very noisy and as the doors have yale locks on evey time there children came in and out of there room which was about every 30 mins in the evening the doors slammed shut behind them which felt like an earth quake.

The staff are amazing though so I feel kind of bad for leaving this review
They are all polite and friendly the hotel is very clean
breakfast if lovely, couldn't ask for more in the department.
Its a shame because I love the location but we wont be returning on our annual scarborough trip.

Stayed here recently and it lived up to the previous comments. Warm welcome and the parking was sorted for us on our arrival. Well appointed, spotlessly clean room overlooking South bay and town which was done to a very high standard. Excellent en suite with products to use and lovely towels. Some rooms on the second floor and there is no lift.
Very good breakfast efficiently served by friendly staff. Our first stay in Scarborough, and when we return we will be staying here. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a 1 night stay with 2 grandchildren and their mum at the Selomar. We were greeted with a warm welcome and immediately sorted parking arrangements. The family room was spacious, clean, comfy and had a lovely view over the town and south bay. (Rooms overlook the north or south bays). The bathroom was also spacious and clean with modern fittings and soft towels. Guests have use of a large sitting/bar room also with lovely sea views. The hotel is ideally situated between the north and south bays with easy access to both (even walking with 3 and 5 year olds). Delicious breakfast with excellent service. The children were well catered for. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will be recommending to friends and family.

Stayed on the 1st November with my two young children and mother in law. The family room was perfect with bunk beds and had plenty of room and was furnished to a high standard. We had a lovely view of the south bay coast/ town. The Bathroom was very clean with modern fittings to a high standard with lovely soft towels and products to use in shower etc. There is a lovely bar/ lounge area which we played games with the children before bed time. There is a well stocked honesty bar and we had magners with ice... Lovely unwind after a busy day sight seeing.

The hotel is in a perfect location for all the attractions on the north and South Bay.. Easy to walk even with young children.

The breakfast was fantastic... High quality sausages/ bacon with large range of condiments and plenty of tea/ toast

Would highly recommend to others and will return....

My Boyfriend and I checked into the selomar Hotel on saturday 26th October 2013. We hadn't booked and turned up in the afternoon looking for accommodation due to having an unpleasant experience from the Greno 2 doors up the road.
we were greeted by the owner a very friendly lady and she gave us the option of 2 rooms to choose from. We chose room 8 which has a lovely bay window looking across the north bay. The room was very spacious and light and the facilities were very clean. We couldn't have wanted anything more. We paid £80 B&B £1 more then the Greno which was well spent!
The beds were very comfortable and the B&B on the whole was very clean and welcoming to the eye.
Breakfast was served very effiecently and the locally sourced sausage and bacon went down a treat. The breakfast buffet was nice but if I'd have the option I would have like some croisants and some fresh fruits to go along with the cereals.
Overall the Selomar met are expectations and we would recomend to any of our friends and Family.
