We stayed here for a long weekend with another couple for our anniversary weekend. The cottage was lovely, well equipped, everything you could possibly need, very clean and very comfortable. Stunning cottage, very quirky with some beautiful features. The views over the bay were stunning both from the lounge window and the bedroom windows, it was so lovely watching the sunrise every morning and watching the little fishing boats go out to sea!! We had everything we could possibly need, right down to playing a game from the good variety in the dining room cupboard, a truly memorable weekend, would definitely stay here again!
The cottage was gorgeous and the views were stunning. It was very easy to get in touch with Caroline and Gwyn, I would definitely recommend!
We stayed for three nights at lighthouse cottage.
It is absolutely amazing little house.
I say little because from outside it does look like a little house off a xmas card.
But inside on four levels it is deceptively huge, easily sleeping 6-7 people with ease.
We simply fell in love with it instantly.
Inside the wood work is great, if your a joiner like me you’ll appreciate this.
The kitchen is a good size too.
It is perfectly located so close enough to the sea, yet far away enough from the noise.
With stunning view of the harbour.
Caroline and Gwynn was great too.
Stayed in contact with email and text on time when they said they would, with enough information to make use of the house very easy.
All in all a delightful place to stay.
We enjoyed our New Year break and found the cottage to be well-equipped, comfortable and dog-friendly. It's situated close to all the town's attractions including the beach and also for visiting other coastal towns/resorts nearby.
Myself and 3 friends stayed here for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The cottage is beautiful, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Scarborough itself is a lovely seaside town with some beautiful buildings. The 15 minute trip on The Pirate Ship is well worth the £3. Open top bus and miniature railway were also great. Will definitely be paying Scarborough another visit and would highly recommend Lighthouse Cottage.
This was our second visit to Lighthouse Cottage, and the house still ticked all the boxes. We travelled as a family of 4 adults and 2 older children, and there was ample space for all of us. Set over four floors, the back bedrooms get amazing views over the south bay. The cottage is clean and well equipped, with all the home comforts you'd expect. Great kitchen with washing machine, plenty of seating in the lounge, wifi, nice towels and bedding etc. Booking was easy, and the owners very helpful.
Ideally located set back from the south bay, the cottage is only a short walk from the amusements, eateries etc, but it's very peaceful (barring seagulls!)
We used the cottage as a base for visiting the North bay (peasholm park, skytrail and beach worth a visit), Filey, and Bridlington Leisure Centre on a wet day for swimming and climbing wall.
We had a fabulous stay and would definitely return and recommend Lighthouse Cottage, unless you have mobility issues with stairs.
We have just returned home after another week at Lighthouse Cottage and, as usual, it did not disappoint. It is a delightful, well kept property with a mix of quirky original character and modern convenience. It is ideal for up to 6 people and you have room to entertain visitors too in the downstairs rooms and private courtyard which is great as we have extended family who either live in Scarborough or visit at the same time. The location really is excellent with the Harbour and Castle on your doorstep and the South Bay, North Bay, and town all within walking distance.
We have been staying at Lighthouse Cottage since it became a holiday let when my wife's cousin owned it. We were a little apprehensive about new owners, but after 2 years can confirm we had no reason to be concerned.
It continues to be improved year on year and we are already booked for next year!
