This is an old pub with rooms above. It can get busy in the pub and consequently noisy but it doesn't go on late. The pub has loads of character and has a good range of beers.

The rooms are basic but clean and include the usual tea coffee bits.

The food is typical pub food but generally the quality is good. If you fancy it, there is a lovely Italian just down the road - Sassos.

The staff are all very friendly and you get a good welcome. As previously mentioned, the TV in the room is an old portable type so you can only get 3 channels at most!

It is real value for money though and I would recommend it as a good stop over on a long journey

Outstanding value, clean and very comfortable room, very pleasant staff and all in a lovely setting. It was a Sunday night but by 1050 all was very peaceful (not noisy before that though the bar below was quite busy, serving excellent beer).
Ref. a previous review, yes there are only 3 TV channels IF you fail to select DTV on the controller!
I spend too many nights away from home but look forward to staying here again.
