Just stayed for 2 nights at The Elcot Manor hotel. Mercure have now done some updates to the décor since taking over the hotel from the Ramada group. The reception, bar, restaurants and the reading room space have all had a nice new Modern look with a much mo0re cohesive look. We stayed in Room 56 which is one of the Privilege rooms with a balcony, ours over-looks the front gardens so a slightly better view then room 55 which partly overlooks the car park. You do get a newspaper included as one of the extras but ours was 'Forgotten' this room also looked like it had a revamp of the walls anyway as the carpet and furniture appeared the same as before.
The hotel no longer has Full use of the Swimming pool as this has been taken over by another company so anyone expecting to use the pool and saunas will be disappointed although we were told it was open in the evening at a cost of £3.50 - they have removed the sauna's apparently.
Overall they have bought it up to date and does look nice although the reception area has now moved and seems a little bit of an after thought compared to its previous logical location.
