Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on trip advisor. I am sorry you found our Hotel room uncomfortable and accept that the warm weather recently, with no air conditioning in our rooms may have influenced this somewhat.
I appreciate your constructive feedback and will take this up with my management team, so as we can address and improve on these concerns going forward.

We got a deal on booking.com for one night in June. On arrival there was plenty of parking but the hotel is quite far from Newbury itself so you would have to drive to get there. On check in the receptionist casually mentioned something about pre-authorisation of our debit card. About an hour later we noticed that the entire cost of the stay was taken out of our account. On check out we told them that but they said that the bank took the money out and held it as pre authorisation and that we had to pay again. Our bank has still not released that pre authorisation back to us, 2 weeks later, so if we had known this we would have just paid in cash. We were given a room on the 2nd floor which was lovely and spacious but far too hot and the window only opened a small bit. There was a small desk fan in the room which we left on for our entire stay but the room was still very humid. We were hoping to book a massage or some spa treatments and spend the day (our anniversary) relaxing at the spa and pool but on arrival the spa was fully booked so we ended up just sitting at the pool and using the jacuzzi and sauna. The pool area was lovely and clean, however it was pretty busy as it appeared locals also use the gym and pool. Our hotel room was right by the lift directly down to the spa area which was handy so we asked for some bathrobes and slippers to wear down, only to be told we would have to pay to use them as it was not included in our night package! I was very shocked at this as I have stated in 2 and 3 star hotels that provide the use of bathrobes complimentary and this was a 'spa hotel'! The food was by far the best part of the stay. We had the 3 course dinner and the buffet breakfast the following morning and both were absolutely excellent! Our compliments to the chef! If the food wasn't so good, I would probably only give 1 star.

We have such a nice friend who sends us Buyagift Vouchers on special occasions. The latest one was for Afternoon Tea for Two at the Regency Park Hotel near Newbury...We activated the voucher and phoned the hotel for a time slot and negotiated 3pm.
We arrived at 2.45pm and were shown to the nice Bar/Lounge where we found a comfortable seat and were able to watch the demise of Andy Murray.......It didn't put us off ---- so we ordered tea for Carole and Coffee for me. The service was very good and after pouring our respective drink the cake stand arrived with a nice selection of sandwiches in the bottom plate, some lovely cakes on the middle one and some warm scones with cream and jam on the top.
We started at the bottom and worked upward. The attention from the staff and the main manager was excellent and we were able to enjoy the selection without having to hurry. More tea and coffee came free.
It is nice to be able to see how these hotels are run and how the staff treat people.. We couldn't fault this at all and when we decided to leave the staff made a nice fuss and hoped we would return...

We booked for a night to go to a party locally, having moved away from the area. The staff were very helpful. The first room we were given was so hot it was like a sauna and the outside temperature was not that hot. It was directly above the leisure centre which probably had an effect, but it was unbearable.
The staff on reception moved us to another room which, whilst still not that cool, was better. To add to the problems the windows are restricted from opening too much which also restrict the amount of fresh air you can allow into the room.
Apart from that our stay was OK and pleasant enough.
For a four star hotel that is not that old, it should have air conditioning, especially as they know they have a heat problem as all rooms come with a fan.

A few weeks ago I stayed at the Regency Park Hotel for a spa getaway and it was fantastic!!! The staff were very friendly and always attentive. The room and bathroom looked like that of a five star hotel in addition to being very comfortable. The room was just the right temperature but the thought of having a little fan there was a nice touch.
My spa experience was absolutely fantastic!!! The lady in the spa was very friendly and gave me a fantastic facial, back and neck message in addition to giving me advice on skin products. I came out very relaxed and feeling wonderful.
I would highly recommend this hotel if you are wanting a mini getaway from the hustle and hustle to a wonderful hotel with a amazing pool, jacuzzi, fantastic spa, good food and will leave you checking out feeling relaxed and feeling great.

Nice hotel, very courteous staff.
In fact this would be a great hotel if the rooms had some form of air conditioning.
The rooms are great size, free WiFi, 2 TV,s with Digital channels, clean and very nicely laid out.
The breakfast is reasonable, but only opens at 6:45, not great for early starters.
The only down side is with no air conditioning, the rooms were uncomfortably warm. The only positive is no traffic, so leaving the window open did help.
