Whilst I am a bit biased being a member of the racecourse and a racing enthusiast, I have to say Newbury racecourse is a top venue. There are ample bars to get a drink from, but one criticism is that they are often understaffed with inexperienced staff (mostly young students-which is not a problem, but there should be an experienced supervisor in each bar), so on busy race days it can take some time to get served. In the Berkshire stand the wine press, (wine bar), is really good. The cheese/pate selection to eat is really good. House wine (berry brothers) is very nice and reasonably priced.
The paddock is easy to get to and you can generally get a good view of the horses. There are ample fast food outlets and quality is good. The 2 main restaurants are exceptionally good, and whilst I personally think the race day package is a little expensive ( especially on "premier" race days) is expensive the food & service is top quality!!.
The quality of races is always top class as it is one of the best courses in the country and hosts some of the top races in the racing calendar ( both flat & jumps).
When they hold concerts after racing they are always well attended, and depending on the artists playing can be very crowded so booking early is advised.
For anyone booking a special event the private box rentals are really good and make for a special day!
