Newbury Race Course is fabulous for a good day out at the races. Facilities re excellent with a plethora of bars a good restaurant and other places to eat such as the good fish and chip bar.

It's easy to place bets and a good view throughout the races. Best to go into members if you can afford it a really good experience with a modern stand an easy view of the paddock and race course itself.

Plentiful parking but do leave time to get there as traffic in Newbury during race days is very congested.

The Henessey weekend is magical.

Do visit and hope lady luck ids with you

Whilst I am a bit biased being a member of the racecourse and a racing enthusiast, I have to say Newbury racecourse is a top venue. There are ample bars to get a drink from, but one criticism is that they are often understaffed with inexperienced staff (mostly young students-which is not a problem, but there should be an experienced supervisor in each bar), so on busy race days it can take some time to get served. In the Berkshire stand the wine press, (wine bar), is really good. The cheese/pate selection to eat is really good. House wine (berry brothers) is very nice and reasonably priced.
The paddock is easy to get to and you can generally get a good view of the horses. There are ample fast food outlets and quality is good. The 2 main restaurants are exceptionally good, and whilst I personally think the race day package is a little expensive ( especially on "premier" race days) is expensive the food & service is top quality!!.
The quality of races is always top class as it is one of the best courses in the country and hosts some of the top races in the racing calendar ( both flat & jumps).
When they hold concerts after racing they are always well attended, and depending on the artists playing can be very crowded so booking early is advised.
For anyone booking a special event the private box rentals are really good and make for a special day!

Wonderful atmosphere. The bars are great but always understaffed. Your're best bet is to go on the minor days if you want a drink if you don't mind being sober then the Hennesy meeting is great.

To be honest i can't remember which meet we actually went to but this was largely down to huge amount of fun we had with our 13 year old daughter betting on all the races. We didn't pay to go in the grand stand or paddock, but went for standing on the grass!! Cheap, standing, bring a pic nic, and hold everything down as it's windy. Calculating the odds and betting was just the best fun we had. And yes our daughter picked the winners. Best maths lesson you can have, amazing how they ponder each way and to win???????
