Free, great views and great for picnics in the sun.
Fancy a walk and some air with a great view deff worth a visit my kids love it and so do I.

Good experience but wasn't thrilling ......Grounds could be looked after better better. If in the are you may want to visit if you haven't got anything better do - much better monuments to visit

this castle was part of an 18 month siege, so having this much left is incredible. You can see where the canon balls have hit parts of the building and the vantage point has a view to Highclere Castle. We were told about the under ground tunnels that allowed entry and exit and supplies to come to the castle during the long siege. It would be great if the local historical society could put some information around the grounds to inform visitors of the history here.

Very nice and peaceful but it could be looked after better. Parking and grounds could be improved and signage

This is just a ruin, no visitors centre or gift shop, so don't come here expecting a day out. It's perfect for walks, picnics, photography, kite flying, etc.
