The food was very tasty, the staff is very friendly. The place looks fancy so it makes you feel nice. A nice place to go for a nice or fancy dinner in the Newbury area.

Castle is in complete ruin except for a small piece remain of what looks like the main entry gate and two towers on either side. The foundations of the castle still line the ground varying different heights between 1 to 5 feet great for little ones to hop and run around. It's castle's original circumference looks quite small. Nothing is here other then the rubble, it's an English heritage site but with no visitor office, bathrooms, not even an information Kiosk. If your looking for a great attraction this is not it, but if you need a spot to stop a stretch on a road trip, let the kids run around, or an interesting place for a picnic this is a nice spot.
Especially if your a Geocacher there is one located on site!

Great for taking kids and dog up for a walk and a picnic (within walking distance of the house) some lovely views of the countryside, you can see Vodaphone HQ, Highclere castle etc.
No facilities or anything, just a ruin on a hill, but the history is interesting and kids love running around it. Car park for visitors at the bottom.

We went with my boys aged 7 and 4. We only needed an hour here as the boys had seen everything in this time. The castle is magnificent and it was lovely chatting to the boys about the history of the building.
