“Just passing”
Review of Donnington Castle

Donnington Castle
Reviewed 20 November 2017 via mobile

Was just passing the sign and thought we’d take a look. Just the castle there ( well, half of it !). Nothing else there but it was a glorious sunny day so the view was lovely. Great for dog walkers ( although must be on leads) and a picnic on a summery day and great for kids to have a run around

This was a family visit with young children so no one was disappointed, except me as I was expecting more buildings. In fact it is only a tower, a part of a castle so I think the name castle is a little misleading.

Stumbled across this castle a year ago and loved it so much we had our pre wedding photos there last month. The castle is mostly ruins and is free to explore. The views are stunning and the earth works and canon damage still visible. Highly recommend for a peaceful walk
