I've allocated average as I don't feel it's very good, more of a good. We went on Easter Saturday, and expected it to be really busy. It was fairly busy although not over crowded.

The children had a really good time exploring the area and playing in each section, there was plenty of space for picnics, as well as a cafe. Staff were constantly picking up rubbish and replenishing the napkins, milk etc.

Some areas were a little shabby and needed a lick of paint, although it was clear money had been spent on new equipment. There are a few uneven areas, so sturdy shoes are a must.

We were delighted to see all the animals looking very clean and had decent enclosures most with toys and mental stimulation. The 2 little ponies by the trampoline had little grass but looked very happy and were charging about kicking and chasing each other for ages.

We feel the entrance fee was reasonable for what you get once inside. The staff while attentive to their jobs, were untidy, with jeans slung very low and tatty uniforms, not much interaction with customers, with one exception.....a very funny chap who did the commentary around the truck and trailer ride, not only did he get a turkey to talk (yes really!) he spoke competently about each animal and their characters. He encouraged everyone to visit other areas and generally very entertaining!

Overall a GOOD from us and likely we will return.

We visited 4 Kingdoms over the Easter Break (April) 2014. It is about a 40 minute drive from us. The price to get in was extremely good considering all that is there. You would pay almost as much for a couple of hours at a soft play park - you got this and loads more!

There is a small farm there, the little ones loved it, sheep, goats, chinchillas, ponies, horses, cows, llamas. A little petting area which was really well run where all the children could sit and stroke an animal of their choice. They had ducklings, rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks, lambs.

There were little electric ride on 4x4s on a track, the guy running it worked HARD! My daughter loved this, was very difficult getting her off of these. A large soft play area ( with a large holder which is clearly for shoes!) and a smaller soft play area for under 2's. There is a little town with a castle for them to explore, a large sandpit with a speedboat in it - if your child enjoys pretend play, this is awesome.

There are trampolines, swinging boats, a small enclosed football/basketball area, a large bouncy slide, tractor rides, a little train, pedal go-carts, electric go carts for younger children, a pond with loads of very amusing and naughty ducks, a climbing frame with slide, free little electric rides (like the ones you get outside supermarkets). Face painting was £2, the result was amazing.

We took a packed lunch, there are plenty of indoor and outdoor picnic tables, the restaurant food looked nice, you were also allowed to eat your own food in the restaurant too.

The staff all worked extremely hard, it is fairly laid back and they expect people to be courteous and not allow their children to hog play equipment. It was fairly busy when we went but no major queues at all. My daughter has done nothing but ask to go back again which is the best review a parent can get.

Been (again) today on Good Friday and with the lovely weather the place was soon very busy.

There has been a lot of investment over the winter months it seems, new attractions, and renovation throughout (incl. new toilet block). After paying the reasonable entrance fee every attraction is free inside.

There is always plenty of staff on, which I really like. They are around helping you, and they clean and tidy all the time but will also remind the kids of safety aspects that one might have missed oneself. There is for example a full time person at the giant bouncy castle who seems to circle around it all the time looking that everyone is safe and no-one uses it as it shouldn’t - and they will remind the kids of that, politely, but sternly.

I’ve given up bringing a picnic as the food outlet is very decently priced (can’t make it myself for that) and even the adult dishes are pretty OK for such a venue (the chicken burger is gorgeous), it’s only a quick meal at the end of the day – kids will need proper feeding after all that running about :)

And not to forget – the animals – there is plenty of them and they are well looked after by what seems to be other full time and properly trained employees. I have been to many other places like this where you could literally smell that maintenance isn't right, but here it’s just the natural odour of the animals that you get (i.e. goats smell like goats, not goat droppings… ).

It’s also nice that the entire place is surrounded by fences, one can sit down and let the wee ones run and also that smoking is not permitted, except outside in the car park and at one place where the entrance to the lake is and that one is actually quickly cautioned by employees that that IS the rule.

To Summarize – if you have to drag your kids out after 5-6 hours and they fall asleep before you leave the car park and YOU have had a relaxed day – that’s got to be good :)

I need to look into the season ticket for this year I think, they keep asking to go.
Thanks 4 Kingdoms Team.

We visited the 4 Kingdoms with our 11 month old child in December in the run up to Christmas, I was very disppointed in the cleanliness and basic lack of effort by the owners / managment. The infant soft play area was covered in mud etc from kids shoes. No obvious rules to take shoes off and keep equipment in a clean state.

It was raining so we could not do much of the outdoor stuff, but it didnt look like we missed much as it seemed to be a few kids things plonked around in a field.

it was cold, damp and dirty and we will never return.
The only reason it got 2 stars rather than 1, was their Christmas special winter wonderland which was clean and new looking.

After paying the high entrance fee, I think we were there for all of 1hr then left.

We have since found a similar type of attraction about 30 minutes away from this one which is lightyears ahead in quality and this place should visit there to see how professionally it is run.

There are lots of farm parks around, but although 4 Kingdoms is close to home we had never visited until now. Not cheap to get in and the equipment is tatty and well used, however you can see they have made an effort to keep things clean & tidy but you just can't help feeling that this place needs a cash injection and a bit more imagination ! The staff are friendly & helpful however.
