We stayed her in 2 rooms. I had a very large family room. All the beds were super comfortable. The receptionist was an absolute pleasure to be checked in by... this was Saturday at 12pm on the 17th May 2014
She couldn't have been more accomadating and even gave my daughter some colouring in pages and crayons.. lovely touch.
Room was clean, bed comfy, TV good etc and quiet
The pub next door was very nice and the evening meal tasty and big portions!
Newbury race course is only a 10 minute drive away

I'm not sure about the previous reviewer saying it was like being on the M25.. I live on a main road and found this room to be quiet and as it was warm had both windows open all night. No problems.

The hotel was satisfactory except the noise coming from the main road, to be honest it would have been quieter sleeping next to the M25. The hotel is located on a main road linking an industrial estate and M4, from early hours of the morning lorries leave the industrial estates to head to the motorway. The windows are glazed well enough to prevent this noise.

We stayed at this Premier Inn as we were down from Yorkshire visiting Highclere Castle. The hotel matched up to Premier Inn's usual high standards with good service and 24 hours WIFI for a £1 charity donation. We had a twin room which was very comfortable and a very good size. The pub next door was good too - although the poached eggs at breakfast were a little under done. I couldn't fault anything else!

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the field at the side of the hotel, which was nice. However, no rooms are...

We stayed for 2 nights in the annex section of the hotel. The room was a fairly spacious family room which was set up well with the 2 extra beds and had the extra linen and pillows for the stay. The staff were friendly and attentive and it wasn't too noisy from the traffic from the main Bath Road. Handy location for visiting family.

We found this premier Inn to be a bit different to the normal Premier Inn’s we have stayed in.

First Impressions was not the best tiny car park. Stayed in the part of the hotel where reception is located (there is 2 buildings).

The room was small no settee however did have a King Size Bed (Major Plus) TV was old and only had a couple of channels, no wi fi asked at reception and got told there should be tried both phones 2 Ipads and a laptop but no signal showing. (Pretty poor response from woman on reception)

The Staff in the Pub were very friendly and went through the whiskey and vodka menu they had (they have some very odd spirits) Even had honey Vodka

Glad it was only an overnight stay as it is not to the standard I expect from Premier Inn, I’ve been told that the rooms in the second building are better than the main building (however I did not see them) Also oddly when I mentioned the Wi Fi issue I was told that this place was a Franchise hotel and not owned by Premier Inn which I found an odd excuse.

Shame about the little niggles as with a king size bed I’d of returned on a regular basis

Room Tip: The Second building has better rooms

This was my first stay at a premier inn and I was really impressed. The staff were lovely and the room was spotless. The breakfast was brilliant and the staff and food at the brewers arms was lovely. Well done premier inn I will definitely recommend you to family and friends and will definitely stay with you in the future.

Newbury/Thatcham Premier Inn is one of the best Premier Inns we have stayed at. The Inn followed exactly the same very high quality staff service and room cleanliness but the hotel food was the best we have experienced
