Yes, it's a chain. Yes, it's selling pizza and pasta like numerous other chains, but what it does, it does well. We arrived as a table of two adults and four children on a weekday lunchtime. The staff were friendly and welcoming, service was prompt and the food tasty and good value, especially the children's meals (£6.25 for three courses).

If this is the quality of Ask everywhere, I'd be happy to seek one out another day!

For a chain restaurant we think this is great. Staff were brilliant one of our party been delayed - no issues re delaying order even on a busy fri night. Kids well catered for - helpful and treated them as adults. Checked regularly we were ok. Nice evening. Great food - well cooked, tasty and not expensive. will def come back again - have been a few times to Ask and impressed as always here.

While walking around Newbury we needed our pizza fix. You almost can never go wrong eating Al fresco and this was no exception. While the menu was diverse and looked wonderful we opted for pizza and were not disappointed.

We are somewhat picky about pizza and this fit the bill nicely.

Our server Eddie was pleasant and extremely helpful.

The food was nice, service slow but thats because they never have more than 2 waitress. However having 6 of us in a group with plenty to talk about, the slow service didn't worry us. Desserts arrived, including profiteroles. The young waitress didn't quite get the balance on the tray right and dropped the profiteroles all over our friend and in her handbag, the waitress swore & managed to capture the rest in her hand. She apologised but nothing was offered. When asked for a free glass of wine, the waitress suggested that we speak to her supervisor and they will deduct her wages. Considering we were all laughing at what happened we were soon shocked by this especially as our friend was wearing a white top which now had chocolate down it. The supervisor didn't care either. So our friend will speak to the manager next time he is working.

Visited with our 11 year old daughter on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Since our last visit Ask Newbury has had a refurb - very nice too. Whole place seems a lot lighter and brighter.
Shown to a table at the back after refusing to sit close to the kitchen - it can get pretty warm. Daughter chose from kids menu - garlic bread and crudités arrived immediately, followed by half a large thin crust pizza. Plenty big enough and healthy enough especially when compared to other restaurants kids options. She said it was really tasty too. We had calamari as a main and shellfish risotto. Risotto was very good and contained lots of fish, Calamari was ok. Small pieces of squid rather than the preferred larger rings. More batter than fish to be honest.
Daughter had ice cream and we shared a chocolate platter. Both very good.
Not cheap at £50 all in but it was enjoyable and the service wax very good.
