I've been to Minehead many times over the years but never really ventured up North Hill. Finding the Marston Lodge hotel was an unexpected delight. The hotel is clean, the hosts welcoming and the food excellent. Hotel is in a quiet road with no traffic noise. En suite shower was great. There were 4 of us staying on the top floor. The views over the sea and Brendon Hills simply outstanding. We had a fantastic home cooked evening meal and a wonderful breakfast. It almost made up for the result of the England vs Uruguay game! Minehead town centre was only a short walk down the hill. Owners couldn't have been more helpful. Can't recommend this hidden gem highly enough. Will be back.

Our 7th visit to Marston Lodge and as always it was excellent. The setting is stunning, the views from the hotel of the coast, steam railway and Exmoor are glorious.

Naomi and Alex gave us a warm welcome and made sure that our stay was comfortable and that we had everything we needed. The breakfast is delicious and all the rooms are furnished to a high standard.

If you haven't visited this part of the country then I can recommend it. Minehead is the gateway to Exmoor and the area has so much to offer from pretty villages with lovely tea shops, nearby medieval Dunster with its Yarn Market and Castle and Minehead itself offering a vast expanse of sandy beach, a coastal golf course and an avenue of different shops and restaurants. Just off the avenue is a delightful Park with mature trees, pretty flower beds, putting and a band stand that has regular concerts during the summer months.

If you enjoy walking then you should give Minehead a go as it is an ideal base to explore Exmoor and the surrounding coast. Marston Lodge is situated on North Hill which rises up from the town and is full of character and a charm all of its own. You are ideally situated to explore Exmoor on foot from Marston as there are numerous walks from the hill.

The worst thing about Marston Lodge is leaving it behind
at the end of your stay - until the next time!

I stayed at this great hotel in May and what a delight it was. Room 12 had a great view and a very comfortable bed too!
The management were extremely helpful and friendly too.

If I ever find myself in Minehead again I will be staying here! Oh and the breakfast is truly scrumptious!

Room Tip: Room 12 is where I stayed and comfortable with a fantastic shower and bath

The Marston Lodge Hotel has without question the finest setting in Minehead, the views from all front aspect of the hotel is wonderful, you not only get to see the whole of Minehead, but a fabulous view of the Quantock Hills in the distance. The Hotel owners guide to Exmoor made our short stay in the area outstanding; I feel I have really seen the beauty of this outstanding part of England, for nothing else a visit to the hotel is a must if you want the ‘personal’ guide. The breakfast is the best, good for the Full Monty, fresh eggs the whole works.

Room Tip: Ask for either room 4 or 6, the views are worth a few extra pounds but they don't charge more!!
