Description: The Smugglers Inn offers a cosy bar, a delightful restaurant and accommodation by the sea at Blue Anchor Bay in Somerset. We are on the edge of Exmoor and the Quantock hills and make a perfect base for walking holidays. The West Somerset steam railway runs through Blue Anchor and the station is just along the road at the end of the bay. Blue Anchor beach is a long sandy beach and is just across the road from the Inn.

We booked the restaurant after reading the reviews, for mothers day. Their were 6 in our party, 4 adults and two toddlers who don't always lead to a relaxing meal!! Also, being mothers day we knew it would be busy. We had forewarned them we had 2 toddlers so we were seated in an upstairs section which was ideal as when the girls had eaten all they wanted we were able to sit them at a low table, with a sofa, and they could draw and play whilst allowing us to finish our meal in peace whilst not disturbing anyone else. The meal, a carvery, was delicious - all meat and vegetables cooked to perfection - in all a truly delicious meal in great surroundings. After we moved to the lovely garden as it was a sunny day and the girls were delighted to find a bouncy castle which kept them very busy so that they slept on the journey home!!!
The staff were very pleasant and the service was excellent, highly recommended !

Had lunch on a Saturday with a friend. The food was wonderful, I can highly recommend sharing the camembert as a starter or just as a snack. This was serviced with a warm baguette and some relish, went down really well with a glass of wine. We followed this up with lamb on mash with red cabbage and side dish of vegetables. The lamb was really tender even though we didn't have it rare. The vegetables were cooked to perfection!
The meal was served with just the right level of attention and time between courses. We were made to feel really welcome and had an all round good time without feeling in any way rushed.
Loved it will definitely go back!
