My boyfriend and I stayed at Copse Cottage for a weekend away and it was wonderful! Such a homely little cottage, and right on the outskirts of the country. Straight from the front door we went for a walk through the forest, and after only a short drive we visited the beach at Minehead. Also really close to Butlins if you fancied a day trip. Great location - not too far from shops and takeaways (we had a great Indian).
For such a cosy cottage there is actually a lot of space. It wouldn’t feel cramped at all with 4 people. It was also very clean and tidy and has lovely cottagey furniture and decor.
I would live there if I could! And can’t wait to go back. We’re booked in again for the end of April.
We stayed here during October this year. The Cottage is situated in a great location. When you come out the car park onto the lane you get to the main road where you can turn right to head towards Dunster, Blue Anchor, Watchet, or turn left to head to Porlock, Lynton and Lynmouth and on towards Ilfracombe. Turning left on to the lane it takes you up the hill and eventually onto the edge of Exmoor making it ideal for those who enjoy walking. You have shops within a ten minute walk down the road and to walk into Minehead town itself is not much further. There is plenty of parking space outside. The Cottage itself is ideal in that it has a large open plan Lounge, Dining area and Kitchen. There is a good quality TV should you need it and free WiFi is also included. The Kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need for the week including a Washing machine and Tumble drier. The property is 'upside down' in that you proceed down stairs to where you find two good size bedrooms and a bathroom with both a bath with a Shower over. It is very tastefully decorated and the bedrooms have good storage with numerous wardrobes and chests of draws. I would thoroughly recommend this property as it is one of the best we have stayed in during the numerous years we have been using properties of this type for our holidays. On our experience this I would say this Cottage will become very popular.
We had a lovely break at Copse Cottage. Perfect little 'upside down" house with everything we needed, fully equipped kitchen and washing machine, really comfy beds, great wifi and plenty of parking. The Cottage has been renovated to a high standard and was exceptionally clean (which isn't always the way in holiday lets that allow dogs).
The Cottage is very peaceful because it's set back off the main road, down a quiet little lane. Because of how quiet it was we were surprised to find we were only a few minutes drive away from the town centre, seafront and harbour ..so getting essentials was easy.
Perfect base to explore the area, so much to do on the doorstep ..Minehead, the harbour, Dunster Castle, the steam train, Porkock, Watchet and Exmoor to name a few.
Added bonus for us was after a 10 minute walk up the lane we found ourselves deep within the beautiful Dunster Forest. We spent a very relaxing hour watching the sun setting through the trees whilst the children and the dog played Harry Potter in the Forbidden Forest ..think they even saw a centaur at one point!
The owners were very helpful during the booking process and arrival and departure was so fast and simple.
All in all Copse Cottage was perfect for us and I highly recommend it to any small families looking for a holiday in Somerset/on Exmoor.
We will definitely be returning.
We stayed at this lovely cottage for a week. We are a family of 3 with a 9 year old daughter. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. It was very specious with everything we needed. It was close to amenities and handy for Minehead. The booking was straight forward without any problems. We would highly recommend a stay here to anyone. Great value for money.
