We booked for one night as part of our holiday walking the Devon Coast Path. We were greeted by Jane who was most concerned that our luggage had not been transferred by our previous B&B. She took their phone number and gave us tea and cake whilst she proceeded to give the previous landlord a good ticking off. Needless to say our luggage arrived within the hour. When we asked for a recommendation for dinner she immediately offered to book us a table at the local pub and to drive us there and arrange for the pub to drive us back. What service! The meal in the pub was excellent, the best lamb we have tasted. Our en-suite room was large and very comfortable with wonderful views and breakfast served by Henry was excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to anybody walking or staying in the area.

I stayed for one night here during my walk between Minehead and Lynmouth. The setting of Silcombe Farm is beautiful in a green valley overlooking the Bristol Channel.

On arrival, I received a warm welcome and my first impression was that the place was both homely and very, very clean. My room was small, but this was offset by having the run of a large guest lounge. I slept very well in a comfortable and warm bed.

The full English breakfast was excellent, served in a gracious dining room. It kept me going for most of the day!

I can only agree with the previous 2 reviews. What a delightful place. So peaceful and in such beautiful surroundings. Very clean and comfortable rooms with outstanding views. The breakfast was superb.

We stayed here for one night when we were walking the South West Coast Path and we were pleased that we did.

The farm is right on the path at present, but this route will be called "the alternative route" when the lower path through the forest is re-opened later this year as the official route. In our view it will still be well worth staying at this B&B for three reasons: it's excellent anyway; the alternative route, as it will be known, gives much better views of the countryside than the official route; Porlock Weir has little accommodation to offer since the hotel closed.

Our room was large, clean and well appointed, and since this was our first stop on the Coast Path, we felt that we had got off to an excellent start. We had dinner (a good one) at the local pub which was too far to walk so Jane, the proprietor of Silcombe Farm with her husband Henry, kindly took us there and the pub landlord brought us back to the farm; all very civilised. We had a delicious breakfast the following morning.

This is a great place to stay in a picturesque area with many options for walking and visiting (Culbone, Porlock, Lynmouth and Bossington) if you are not doing the Coast Path. Highly recommended.
