Returned yesterday from 2 nights at the Old Ship Aground! We were there with family and friends and had a great stay. We had a very friendly welcome from the staff and the locals too which was nice. Our rooms were great! Room 8 and 9 are huge with lovely harbour views. Massive beds with crisp white linen and big fluffy towels. The food was also brilliant. Think it's the best presented breakfast I've ever had. We really enjoyed our stay and had lots of fun. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so good!

Recently refurbished, The Old Ship Aground is a great place for a break. The rooms are large and comfortable, the food and drink are good, and the hospitality by the owners and staff cannot be beat. Location is great at the Quay end of Minehead, within easy reach of the City Centre, Quantock Hills, Exmoor and Devon.

Room Tip: We stayed in 8, which along with 9, has a great view of the Harbour with ceiling to floor windows.

Just returned from the 3 night break offer and what good value it was. We were upgraded to room 9 overlooking the harbour and nothing was too much trouble. Being a veggie, my meals were cooked to order and my husband said the quality of the meat was better than Waitrose, very attentive service and thoroughly recommend a stay, in such friendly surroundings.

Room Tip: very good web site to help you choose.

My husband and I met 2 friends at the Old Ship Aground after spotting it on the internet. We only had 1 night away, but felt so relaxed and friendly in the pub, that we didn't leave it, we ate, drank, slept and enjoyed. A lovely friendly welcome was made and all the staff helped to make our short break away very enjoyable. Keep up the good work, We are sure that you will do well. Lovely food and very clean comfortable rooms at an affordable price. We will return.

Was a little while ago and I understand its changed hands since...but from what I heard its even better.

Great food, great atmosphere..and a little unexpected... its a nice walk from the West Somerset railway preserved line.. So let the train take the strain... - join it at Bishops Lydeard, travel by Steam to Minehead and then have a glorious pub lunch and a beer!

Room Tip: I didnt stay... so this is the Pub only...

Thanks for your comments, we opened last September after a full refurbishment but have made sure that pub retains its natural charm and historic tradition as a harbourside pub. If youre in Minehead again pop in and see what we've done.
