We have just returned from a 6 night stay at the Channel House and were very impressed. It is just 3 minutes walk from the seafront and ten minutes from the steam railway station. The view and gardens are very good. The hotel decorations are in good order and it is all spotlessly clean. We liked our room a lot (especially the comfy bed, luxurious bath and shower room, and bright reading lights). The breakfasts are amongst the best we have eaten (the selection of fresh fruit is remarkable) and there is a wide selection of cooked dishes. Dinner is ordered at breakfast time with 3 starters and 3 main courses (separate vegetarian menu) and was very well cooked with excellent ingredients. Everyone eats together promptly at 7pm and the service was excellent. The staff are friendly and very willing to put themselves out to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, for example buying in soft drinks and wine specifically requested. The dining room and lounge areas allow for conversation with other guests or for privacy if you feel less sociable, After 6 nights we are usually yearning to return to simple food, but are contemplating a 7 night stay next year. As well as a normal wine list they have 10 wines by the glass or bottle, which we used to buy different sized glasses of wine with our meals. Only possible complaints are that restocking the room toiletries was erratic and there is very limited WiFi. Strongly recommended.

Room Tip: The website has pictures of all rooms which makes choice very easy. Most rooms have a pleasant or st...

We have stayed at many hotels all over the uk but this is the best yet!
The rooms and bathrooms are large and in pristine condition with tasteful décor and wonderful views. There is a wide variety of choice for breakfast which is beautifully presented, the location of the hotel is perfect too only a few minutes stroll in to the town.
Would highly recommend.

Having travelled extensively all over the UK I can honestly say that Channel House is one of the very best small hotels I have stayed at. Found by chance for one night after a whiz around Wales
the dinner (at short notice) was outstanding, the high quality overall decor was very tasteful, the room was superbly appointed ,immaculate and very well equipped. The location,in a quiet residential area, high on the cliffs in gardens above Minehead with great views was ideal. The welcome and general ambience did credit to the most attentive and friendly hosts.
A real unexpected gem. Adrian Taylor

We have just returned from a long week-end, one of many trips to our favourite hotel. The personal service we receive from Debra and Andy is only one of the reasons we keep returning. All the rooms are immaculate both public and guest. The food is amazing, and Debra keeps a record of guests like and dislikes, that's personal service of the highest order.
Finally every time we visit we meet other guests that we have met there before, clearly we are just two of a large number of regular visitors.
This surely is the "Best Hotel For Miles"

Room Tip: The only choice you will need to make is Twin or Double.

Just back from our second visit this year and as always the welcome you receive from Debra and Andy is more like a friend than a guest. Food excellent and beautifully presented. The choice of breakfast was wonderful. The bedrooms are spotless and plenty of room in the bathroom. We are returning next year.

My sister, mother and I have just returned from a four-night stay at the Channel House Hotel. It’s situated on a hill overlooking the beach and bay, with peaceful, well-tended gardens which, for most of the time, were completely sheltered from winds. The hotel itself is immaculate, spotless and well-furnished. The bedrooms (we had numbers 3 and 7) are large and airy, and the beds and pillows are gloriously comfortable. The owners, Debra and Andy, are kindness itself, and this showed particularly in their unobtrusive attention to our 90-year-old mother. The staff are just as delightful, and clearly take pride in the hotel. Andy cooks breakfast and Debra prepares the evening meals, including bread for the dinner table. Everything is home-made, and everything we ate was delicious and superbly cooked. It was great to return to the hotel each evening, knowing for certain that we were going to have a wonderful, relaxing dinner.
