Description: Historic Harbour side Pub Inn & Hotel. A landmark building with its history of hospitality going back over 100 years. Our atmospheric restaurant and pub food experience will be very much 'River Cottage' style with Seafood, Fresh Fish, Local Farm Produce, Seasonal ingredients, Carvery, Kids Menu Not forgetting Celiac gluten free, dairy free there is lots of choice. If we cannot grow it or raise it on our farm, you can be sure it is locally sourced and the very best of quality. From home smoked bacon to our own baked breads you won't go hungry. Alfresco eating with beautiful scenic views. Great Beers & Wines. Cosy in winter with a real fire. Completely refurbished during the summer of 2013

This is an excellent pub with great food, good beer and a good ethic. The holiday makers and locals mix in a very friendly atmosphere and one can only commend the staff for their hard work and friendliness. All of these things are personal I know, but from sitting surrounded by the Life Boat Crews in the sun on a Sunday lunch, to having a quick beer in the afternoon or to having an excellent meal in an evening this pub works! We're going back and we can't wait.

“Perfect ”

The staff were very welcoming and the service was quick and friendly. The food was outstanding - we had mains and puddings and could not find fault. So much so, we booked for lunch tomorrow! Highly recommended!

“Good value but pity about the fish and chips”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2014

Friendly, attentive service and very good value for money - £52 for a three course meal including a decent bottle of wine I kid you not!!!
Pate starter was tasty, as were the desserts. Pity then that our main courses - fish and chips were only just OK. The beer batter was stodgy and greasy, and the chips tasted like oven-cooked chips. The mushy peas were runny.
The pub has a warm atmosphere and we enjoyed the dining experience - probably go again but avoid the fish and chips.

“Surprise Return”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014

We visited this Pub in July of this year after a couple of years away and what a pleasant surprise. It has been recently refurbished but has still kept its character. With new management, superb staff, excellent food and great beer what more can you ask for. We will certainly be visiting the Old Ship when we are next in the area.
