“Rough it out at Luton Hoo golf”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

Excellent and tricky greens, some variety with lakes, nice views and long. Not really suited to high handicappers unless they can hit straight and clear 120 yds or so as the rough can be very unforgiving to stray balls. Overall, at £32.50 per round, a course worth playing but some may be distracted by the M1 traffic or frequent flights from/to Luton Airport. The staff is generally friendly and not too strict. But bring plenty of balls for the rough and lakes and strong breezes! A round behind 4 seniors took us 5 hours to complete (looking for balls in the rough in most holes).

“Better than expected”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

I played Luton Hoo for the first time ever this week and was very pleasantly surprised by the course. Having read all the poor reviews on Trip Advisor I filled my golf bag with a selection of old balls thinking I was going to lose a fair number given the reports on the rough. The rough is tough but if you can play straight it is not a problem. I feels very much like playing a links type course and some of the views are superb with lovely lakes . Not a course for the golfer who sprays his driver all over the place but when you play the course conservatively good scores follow. Looking forward to visiting again

What can I say apart from what a totally amazing place and so welcoming my husband booked a weekend here to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and I wasn't disappointed, we stayed in a room in the Flower Gardens and it was beautiful, the spa and the staff are so welcoming and treatments are not over priced at all, the pool is great and free to use.

We had afternoon tea on the terrace which again was beautiful my only suggestion is book treatments and meals before you go

Thanks again LUTON Hoo for making my weekend unforgettable

“Hotel & spa with golf attached”

Luton Hoo is a great house & park, the golf course appears to be an afterthought. Course condition & layout are average at best and many other courses locally that are more challenging & in better condition.

“Golf Trip”
Reviewed 31 March 2014 via mobile

So just got back from golf trip to Luton Hoo
First the course as that to me is the key if ur on a golf trip
The course us quite frankly poor, greens are shabby and the fact they seem to think bollards and blue tape belong on a golf course rather than the M1 is bizarre
The back 9 is superior to the front 9 and they look like 2 different courses
We found out later that the back 9 were the original holes and from 9 new
The hotel was excellent, big rooms, well appointed
We found it strange that we couldn't check in at the golf hotel as the last thing u need after a long drive is to have to go back to the main reception
Food was at the main hotel was top notch
Service was good and food in golf hotel was also good
Slightly strange that they only sold half pints in the hotel but can understand why
Overall would go back with the Mrs for Spa and break, wouldnt rush back just for golf.
Shame as if the golf course was up to the same standard as the food/accommodation/service and this place would really be 5star
