Holiday Inn London - Luton Airport
Ranked #12 of 26 Hotels in Luton
Reviewed 21 June 2013

Recently back from a 3 night stay whilst working in the luton area. The hotel is situated clsoe to Luton airport and the city centre. Stayed here for 3 nights and on my own. There is car parking which costs £5 a night, which in general isnt too bad, given its location. Wifi is also free in the hotel and rooms, which is a massive plus for solo travellers IMO.
The check in went very smoothly and the receptionisy (Magada sp? Employee of the month) was efficient, polite and also chatty.
My room was a basic double bed with a sofa and a small bathroom, all i needed to sleep in for a few hours before my next day at work. The only negative i will mention is that of the 3nights i stayed my room was only cleaned on 1 night. This wasn't an issue as all i used was the bathroom and bed.
Would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone has an early flight from luton airport or who wants a hotel close to the city centre but not pay city centre costs. Very good, and will be returning.

Stayed here with my wife as we had a 6am flight for Paris the following day.

The hotel is clean and comfortable and with the usual ameneties you would expect.

The hotel itself is located close to the airport; about 10 mins walk. If you're planning on parking the car there bear in mind there is no shuttle bus to the airport (we were booked in the mid stay car park next door to the hotel). Might be worth considering adding this service Ramada Luton....I've stayed in other Ramada's at other airports and they did provide a shuttle service.

The hotel has a restaurant which serves food but seems to run in a chaotic way; the lady who was trying to manage the evening service was lovely as she had to fix the issues with wrong orders from our waitress (and fix numerous other tables errors from the same waitress). I would let the lady in question manager the floor (wish I had remembered her name) Not a big issue in the grand scheme of things and the food was standard pub type fayre.

For an overnight stay it does the job and will use the hotel again if we have another early morning flight from Luton.

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments.

From your comments it is pleasing to see overall you enjoyed your stay.

While we do serve Pub food in the bar we also have a Carvery, and a menu for the restaurant with grills etc.The Carvery is only £12.50 with a complimentary salad or soup.

The shuttle bus, we are working with Arriva to provide this service. It will be across
the road from the Hotel but not to the door.

Stayed there at the weekend for a very reasonable £55 for the night.

It would be a bit of a walk if you have lots of luggage or kids but it only took us about 6 or 7 minutes (at a quick pace).

The hotel is clearly just meant for quick stop and thats it. Its is very clean, well run and the rooms have a nice modern decor.

We had a few beers and some chilli (which was nice), which are served 24 hours a day (thankfully).

I stayed here a few weeks ago before going away on holiday. I specifcally booked this hotel because of its offer of one nights parking onsite and the remaining period of the holiday on one of the airports carparks. I will come to this later.
The hotel itself is easy to find. Check in was straight forward and we were allocated a room on the ground floor which was clean and spacious. We didn't use any of the hotels facilities as we arrived quite late in the evening and left early in the morning. The bed was nice and big but the crack under the door meant that light beamed through into the bedroom.
Upon checking in, I was advised that the parking would be within the hotel grounds for the duration of my holiday, which meant that we had to make our own way to the airport. Although not a great distance, when travelling with an infant this becomes a bit trickier. Travelling from and to the hotel by taxi cost over £13, which whilst isn't a large amount, had I known in advance that this was going to be the case, I wouldn't have taken up the offer. Having complained to Ramada about the mis-representation of the offer on their website, they have agreed to refund the cost of transport to and from the airport.
Having arrived back at the hotel at 1am, my wife enquired as to the cost of a room, rather than driving home. She was initially asked as to what her budget was, then advised that it would be £100, which quickly dropped to £70. A ridiculously amateur level of customer service. Give it some thought Ramada, if someone enquires for a room at such an early hour of the morning, the chances are they really want to stay, so perhaps have a certain rate for such eventualities

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments.

I apologise for the misunderstanding regarding your Car Parking.I hope the matter has now been resolved to your satisfaction.

I would like to think that the person quoting the rate on your return was quoting our rate that was set on the day that is accessed by our reservation system and offered this rate,on realising the time of day and availability he /she used their initiative by offering a figure that was closer to your budget.

Thank you for your comment regarding the door,we will investigate the issue.

I hope when in Luton again you would choose the Ramada Luton Airport Hotel to stay.

Kind Regards

We stayed here for 1 night back in February & had a very pleasant experience. The rooms are clean & comfortable, the staff were all polite & friendly & besides being right near to the airport it is also handy for the town centre. I have used the Ibis & Holiday inn in the past but if I want to use a hotel in the airport area in the future, we shall be returning to this hotel.

We used the Ramada Encore as part of an airport park and stay deal. The parking was with airparks a few miles from the hotel The parking coach dropped us about 300 metres from the hotel entrance The Ramada Hotel room was comfortable clean and the facilities were good.Hotel staff very helpful. The restaurant offered a range of food to suit all tastes. To get to the airport especially with bags, we recommend a taxi (£6) because to walk to the bus stop is all uphill. We paid £72 for the parking and a double room which we consider really excellent value,

We had an early morning flight from London so instead of spending money at our hotel in London we drove to Luton airport at the evening before (took the green line bus), and stayed there for 40 euros for double room.
It's a nice hotel, but if you have luggage it's a little bit difficult to take it with you to/from the bus station
