As with all things in life different people look at things differently... Reading some of the reviews I think some people just find things to moan about.!
Reception staff were very helpful, asking if i needed a hand with my bags,
Room was clean and tidy. minor point of no soap and only one towel, I always take my own so its not a problem to me.
Traffic noise is loud in the rooms and could do with double glazing. If you want it to be dead quiet, dont book a hotel in the city.

Breakfast was really good and the staff were very helpful with my dietary needs.
Bar area, again was clean and tidy, with nice chairs to relax and use the free WIFI .
(wifi in rooms is weak)

Would stay here again if the travel lodge was fully booked.

Room Tip: rooms at the front get more road noise then the ones at the back

This hotel is an example of how trip advisor can be very damaging to a business.

Positives
Price - for a hotel within a 30 minute train commute to London this hotel does offer good value for money

Parking - free car park that I found safe and secure

Staff - I arrived early after a long journey the reception staff could not have been more accommodating sorting a room at 10am and very friendly

Rooms - good double bed with clean and basic rooms.

Breakfast - Basic but included in the price.

Cons

Yes road noise can be heard but I have experienced this is most city hotels that are located next to a main road

Communal areas are in places a little tired.

I dont not understand why people judge a hotel on the nationality of the guests. I am generally very critical but based on price, location and value for money I would certainly return.

Nothing works, smells, cheap look decoration. Majority users are east Europeans. No Heater remote, I had to request for it.
Disappointed really cold room
Never stay here again. Windows need changing no double glazing.

Cheap and cheerful, you get what you pay for £50 a njght for twin room is very good value. Coffee machine was broken when checking out, though the receptionist kindly provided us with soft drinks at no charge. Recommended if traveling on a budget and no frills expected.

i loved this location cause the local bus stop was right outside and there was a grocery store across the street.

the hotel bathroom was gross. the rooms were tiny. I traveled with another person and they had to put us in a 3 bed room otherwise we couldn't fit and we did not have that much stuff. the tub tile surround was dirty and the hotel didn't really do anything about it and we didn't want to insist for fear of being 'the ugly American.

they did serve breakfast which is good but they were all white foods. nothing healthy. you could always eat out cause there were other places to eat close by.

Room Tip: in the future ,I don't care where you are in the world and the room is not satisfactory, insist...

This place has brothel written all over it
The smell in the hallways and room, will haunt my dreams forever. And I was only there for 5 mins before requesting money back.
Don't stay here ,unless it's by the hour, and you have no shame or morals.

This a life time experience! I have never been in such a hotel before, and most probably will not experience such an hotel again!
Incomparable to any other hotel you know,

It is dirty, maintenance is impossible. Shower does not function , walls were scatters with coffee dots, someone prepared ages ago, carpets were sticky, etc.
One big mistake! This is an hotel expedia and hotel .com should out list from their recommended hotels
