“Just delightful!”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

We have just had Sunday lunch at Luton Hoo and what a delight it was. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and this is just how we expected it to be. There is loads of parking space and what a lovely drive up to the mansion. The staff were very helpful from the minute we arrived to the time that we left. The food is excellent and as a Sunday lunch we had more than enough to eat....we have experienced in other similar locations not half as good. In some of these Restuarants we have found the staff stand off'ish but not so here, the camaraderie was wonderful. It was very relaxing and a delight to lunch at. We will be going back in October to celebrate my husbands birthday. Just one little thing, gents remember to wear a jacket because it's part of the dress code for the Werner Restuarant and even if you don't they will help you out with supplying you with one, which is what happened to my husband. Thank you all for a lovely day.

Stayed here for 2 nights to use the spa facilities. The room was incredibly spacious and felt more like a suite with its sumptuous sitting area.

The breakfast was fabulous, overlooking the gardens which are immaculately kept.

The staff and friendly and helpful and valet parked the car so we didn't ruin our shoes on the gravel.

Would recommend as a nice little luxury before flying from Luton Airport as it's very close

Would recommend

Room Tip: Overlooking the immaculate gardens - you will not be disappointed

I went with a party of 12 for my cousins hen do as a very special treat. We arrived to unwelcoming reception staff who proceeded to tell us our rooms were not ready. Bearing in mind we had nannys in the party aged 84. On top of this, the booking was in the wrong name despite my cousin having told them this numerous times previous to our arrival. We were offered no drinks while we waited for over an hour 1/2.

Our rooms finally ready, or so we thought, we proceed to the manor house quite deflated. Only to find the bride to be room was still not ready and the customized dressing gown and balloons which had been left for her were on the floor! At this point we were so desperate to get to the spa we just got changed into our dressing gowns and headed out.

Seeing as the receptionists had quite frankly told us nothing we assumed the spa would be within walking distance. There we are a party of 12 in our dressing gowns stood in the middle of the manor receptions only to be told it was 10 minutes away how humiliating!!!The staff did then arrange taxis for us to be taken to the spa and rightly so.

By this time what was so supposed to be an afternoon of relaxation had turned into a rolling series of disasters and a quick dip in the pool. Our dinner reservation was at 7 so we had almost no time to enjoy the facilities which were lovely. We had made plans for the evening to be wedding hair and make up trail as this would be the last time we were all together before the wedding. Of course we had no time for this!

Dinner was lovely and we did have an enjoyable night. However when we came to check out and obviously brought all our concerns to the desk we were met with yet more mistakes. As compensation they offered us cream tea. This took over an hour to come and came in dibs and drabs. On top of this, the staff then attempted to charge us for this!!!!!. This was the cherry on the cake

Its such a shame as it is a lovely venue which we booked as a special treat. However in all honestly for the money we paid we got no where near the service we deserved.

Very disappointing.

Came as a surprise for my mother in laws 60th Birthday with her and my sister in law. We thought that the continental breakfast had been booked for us, but we were taken into another room, and just given the normal breakfast menu. We ended up having a bacon muffin and hot drinks which were £10 each! I thought that was quite pricey, but having said that, the hotel was lovely and the service was faultless. They even made mother in law a birthday cupcake which she loved.

My boyfriend booked the couple's spa retreat for my birthday and we had a wonderful stay at Luton Hoo. The mansion house is absolutely beautiful and the grounds are kept so well maintained. We were lucky with the weather so got to spend a lot of time outside. The spa was great, the staff welcoming and friendly and the treatments good, if not a little pricey, but that's to be expected with ESPA treatments. The sauna, steam and jacuzzi are was lovely and it was a nice pool, albeit there were a lot of kids there on our stay so wasn't very peaceful! We had a room in the Flower Garden section, it was very spacious and clean and the bed was the most comfortable bed we've ever stayed in. I wish we had stayed for a week :-) Adam's Brasserie was great for dinner and also breakfast the next day. The staff were lovely and attentive. Drinks were pricey but to be expected at a 5* hotel. The only very slight disappointment was with the afternoon tea, the scones were superb but the cakes very boring (mango delice, strawberry mousse cheesecake and macaroons) - I'm not sure if that's the summer selection but I personally like more traditional cake selections such as fruit/custard pastry, something with chocolate and something dense like fruit slice. But the service was good and the piano player in the lounge was fantastic. All in all we had a fabulous stay, didn't feel like we were only an hour from home and I will definitely be returning.

Went to the Luton Hoo with 3 other couples and had a fantastic time. We are all in our 40's and 50's and this place was great.... The guys played golf, the women did a spa day, we all went trap shooting and walked around the property. The meal at the Carriage house or stable was fantastic ! Service was excellent !! Not a lot of other stuff around here but great place if you wanted to get out of the hustle and bustle of London without going to far away.

Meat and salads we're very nice and very tasty their being no limit on helpings. £25 per head expensive for meal paying for where you are. . Wine very expensive cheapest £7 per glass. Bottle cheapest £30. Basically sitting at a table on lawn in courtyard with people drinking from golf club and taxis constantly driving round by some erratic drivers. . Ok for a one off but would not do again. Staff very efficient but missing personal touch.
