Four of us visited on a Saturday night in July. It was a warm summer evening and the restaurant doesn't have aircon but it was a lovely comfortable atmosphere. We booked for 7 o'clock and we're seated and served promptly. This is a lovely restaurant with some 'quirky' staff that all add to the experience !. Had fresh bread and butter on the table - simple but lovely. Started with home made garlic bread, the best anywhere, very rich. Then had chicken and mushroom in a moray sauce topped with cheese. Followed by steak with a Gorgonzola sauce. You can't get steaks any better than here, done to perfection by Jean Claude. All four of us had steaks, all very happy with our meals.
Only disappointment of the evening was a large party of about 20 came in at eight o'clock and completely occupied the two waiting staff's time. They never have enough staff waiting to cope with a full restaurant. Two ladies can't cope with serving 50 people.
This meant we didn't get desert or coffee a slight let down to the evening. Our meals were excellent, bottle of house red was only £10 and very good quality.
Overall a lovely restaurant, excellent steak's, great value for money, slightly disorganised waiting staff.
