Whilst travelling around the area the tower of the Emley Moor transmitting station is pretty hard to miss. Even at night, the run of red lights can be seen for miles. Not much to do when you get to it except stare in wonder and imagine what the view from the top might be like if you could getup there. Assuming the top isn't shrouded in cloud of course.

Its a massive tower and dominates the skyline for miles away . when you get close on the moor it shows just how did this is . however no way ups the tower and no great activity except staring at it , hence 3 stars

We moved here from Manchester 4 years ago, it was the first place we visited

As the title says you cant visit it any more with out getting funny looks from the people who work there because you're parking on their entrance. There is a small parking area but its shut for cars. There is a info plaque but it is not looked after. Its like they don't want you there. Shame really as its a nice drive out.

This is not really an attraction as you can only park in the layby and look up at the mast. It is a fantastic structure, unfortunately you cant go up it, only select few people have made the trip to the top which takes 7 minutes in the lift! If you want to save fuel have a look online instead, theres a lot of amazing pics.
