We were very impressed with the quality of our rooms, two of the best on the Pennine Way, and we had a 'bath', an essential for walkers but not usually found in B & Bs/Hotels/Pubs. The food was good and plentiful. All in all an enjoyable stay at very reasonable prices.

Stayed for one night sunday 6 may.

Our room (1)- had great views. The rooms were elegant and stylish- and spotlessly clean- the beds were the most comfortable we have slept. in.

Whilst we were there it was quite busy being a bank holiday-(With an 80th birthday)- so service was probably slower than usual- but to be quite honest we were in no rush so it didnt bother us. We had the three course sunday lunch (£11.95)- which was nice.

The breakfast was very nice- and huge- the lady who served- was very nice and pleasant-, as was the young lad- for the price we paid (£60 for 2 inc breakfast)- we were very happy with our stay- and would not hesitate to stay here again- or recommend to friends- just sorry we missed out on the turkish food- but we were meeting up with friends sunday evening- so couldn't make the evening meal- but will do next time!.

Room Tip: room 1- is at the very front of establishment, and overlooks the pennines.

I stayed here in March whilst walking the pennine way and had a very friendly welcome before being introduced to my fantastic room. All I can say is wow, for the money this is really excellent value, everything is plush and clean everything you could want, then bathroom in particular was very nice indeed. Food in the pub downstairs was good too and the breakfast certainly kept me going for most of the next days walk to hebden bridge. Would definately stay again.
Tripadvisor has the location wrong on the map - it is half way between Marsden and Diggle on the A62 right next to the junction with Mount Rd, close to Redbrook reservoir.

We stayed for a night recently, and booked an evening meal too. We were persuaded to try the Turkish cusine by other guests - and a delicious smell being served in the bar! Lovely food, eaten in the comfprtable restaurant. The pub area has a cosy, old feel to it, and a good range of ales, etc.

The rooms are lovely - very well-finished, with comfortable bed, crisp white linen and beautiful bathrooms. There is a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee-making facilities, with views over the moors. We couldn't criticise anything at all.

Breakfast in the morning was very good, served in the conservatory, over-looking the moors. Great value and very comfortable.

Excellent, friendly service. Spectacular landscape but also close to the main A62. Very welcome cooked breakfast included in the price - full tradtional English or fish. Advice - we had trouble finding it on arrival in the dark. The map available on the web appears to place the location within Marsden. In fact the location is well into the countryside and to the west of Marsden - persist and eventually it will be obvious on the south side of the A62. Also, on TripAdvisor, this establishment does not show up when searching for Marsden - even though Marsden is the nearest village.
