“Daughter's wedding”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

We have just had the most amazing wedding at the pennine manor. Mandy the manager and Gabriel made the whole wedding day run faultlessly, they put all of us at ease the day and night went like a dream

Room Tip: Room 27 great view

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014

Stopped at the Pennine last Saturday (19th July) with my partner as we were visiting my parents in nearby village (2nd stop over in past few months).
Booked in on the Sleep and Dine package which is £69 per couple Friday and Sunday £89 Saturday. My parents just came for dinner and were on the full price menu.
If anyone is thinking of booking this package do so as it covers B&B and 3 course meal per couple off any menu and is great value for money. If we had booked only on B&B that would have been £75 so for extra £7 each we got 3 course dinner!
The food yet again was lovely, and on both visits I had Rib-Eye steaks cooked to perfection and tasty. At this point its worth noting those steaks alone on the menu are c £15 so that, a starter and a pudding for £7 are excellent value.
My parents ordered Duck breast for their main, it looked lovely, pinkish as it should be and PLENTY of meat, however both dishes were tough to cut and chew.We mentioned this to Mandy the manager and without hesitation swapped them both for any other dishes they wanted but without charge ! she even offered to swap our dishes and bring fresh cooked ones when my parents meals were ready so we could eat at the same time, now that is what I would call EXCEPTIONAL customer service. We declined however as our dishes were fine, we had already started to eat them and we didn't think it would be fair especially as my parents were now receiving their mains for free.
The room was nice and clean, decor slightly dated but not a problem and views of surrounding countryside are good especially for me as I was born in the general area and it was interesting to pick out places I recognised from that high vantage point.
Breakfast the next morning was buffet style, plenty of choice and very tasty especially the sausages and bacon.
Staff ? well all were absolutely first class , helpful, attentive and jolly which in some establishments is rare these days.
Oh I forgot to mention, I also asked for a free upgrade to an executive room if any were available, yet again my request was honoured !
Ive already emailed the hotel expressing our thanks but thought I should also put it out in the public domain.
With regards any negative reviews we can all find faults wherever we go and most things are either personal taste / subjective or indeed a one off glitch which can happen to any hotel. We however found no fault other than the Duck which really is down to the supplier / quality not the Chef.
Had a great stay and the service / food I cant praise enough, it was like being at a hotel in past times when customer was important and nothing too much trouble. Thanks all at the Pennine and hope to see you soon. Andy & Alison from york

Room Tip: Front facing towards the Helipad good views over countryside

This is a really good Hotel set up above the M62 in Yorkshire . Only had a one night stay , but the place is run very proffessionally and the food is excellent . Breakfast is buffet style and plentyful . Rooms are quite big and some have great views . The only thing i could fault is that there was a heated towel radiator which did not seem to turn off !! ( lefy the bathroom quite warm )
Would definetly use again .

We had our wedding at pennine manor on the 7th June 2014 and had an amazing experience. The whole experience including service, food etc was everything we wished for and more!

The communication between ourselves and Julie/Gabrielle was excellent and with the help of Mandy's exceptional organisational skills, the day ran without any hitches! A special thank you to James (Yorkshire Venue Dressing) and the team at pennine manor who worked hard to create our perfect reception decor..it looked amazing and just what we envisioned.

Everyone had a great time and we would highly recommend this as a wedding venue to any couple!

We visited here in June to sample some of the choices of food that were available from our wedding breakfast menu. The bar man and waiter Nick was really great, very professional yet friendly and approachable. He asked us questions about our forthcoming big day and made welcomed suggestions about food course choices. He was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for him. He is a credit to the hotel and I hope he will be part of the team present on our special day as he is a true example of great customer service with a smile. Thank you for the lovely meal.

I stayed here with a number of my family, for a family wedding. We all found our stay a very pleasant, happy experience. The rooms were very clean, and well stocked with all you would need. The staff were very helpful, and did their best to make our stay a good experience. The hotel is situated on a hill, with beautiful views across the surrounding countryside.
