We stayed at the hotel over the August Bank Holiday for family wedding.
The staff were friendly and very helpful and the food mostly was delicious-I think it depended on which Chef was on duty!
There was one slight hiccup! One of our wedding party was seated on a chair that had a shard of glass embedded in it and it cut into her leg and made it bleed- rather worrying!
I would certainly stay here again!

Room Tip: Well we had room number 31 and it wasn't great, paint was peeling around the window sills, however the cleanliness was faultless. Also the only view was of the car park! Rooms on the West side had the best views.

My daughter and son in aw held their wedding reception here and we stayed for two nights. The food was brilliant, rooms lovely and staff well organise but the location is outstanding with fantastic views and the horses in the next field really friendly! Would definitely go back well worth the money we paid

Went here for a hen do meal, we were given a room off the main dining area and had a great time. The staff had decorated the table for our hen and her group of 12 and also gave complimentary wine as we sat down to eat. The food was absolutely fabulous, 3 courses for £18.95 was a great deal but I was totally impressed with the standard of the meal and the service throughout the evening.
Well done Pennine Manor, first visit for me but will definitely be back.

My fella and I had a lovely 4 night stay here in early August 2014. This is a really great hotel and in an excellent location for Huddersfield, with amazing views across the beautiful rolling Yorkshire hills as far as the eye can see. Great for us as we were visiting friends in Huddersfield, Leeds and York. It's in a very quiet location very close to motorway links (but you wouldn't think it when you're there). There's loads of parking and the staff are all very friendly and welcoming, particularly Nick who mans the bar and restaurant. I've never met such a lovely friendly, over-helpful to please head of house. He was very efficient and professional. The other members of staff were great, but not a patch on Nick for attention to detail and attentiveness. Great guy. Breakfast was amazing in the morning, taken in a room overlooking the hills towards Pontefract and Emliee Moor mast. The full English option was huge. Excellent value and really sets you up for the day, consisting of a sausage, 2 rashers of non-fatty bacon, baked beans, a choice of egg, muchrooms, tomato, fried bread, a hash brown and black pudding. In addition to this you could have as much cereal, toast, fruit, croissants and tea and coffee etc. it was way too much for me so I ended up having eggs Benedict for or remaining 2 mornings.

We choose to have an Executive double room (room 20) on the first floor. The room was a nice size with crisp clean sheets and had a fairly comfortable bed. It had 4 large windows making it lovely and light facing the main entrance. This room was a little noisy 2 nights as there were inconsiderate smokers outside the main reception right outside our bedroom window. Luckily it didn't go on too late else I'd have asked them to quieten down.

The executive room gave us a bigger more luxurious room by all accounts, with the use of dressing gowns and chocolates on the pillows. I would have been interested to see a normal double room as I personally don't think this room was to an Executive standard I was expecting. The room was comfortable and pleasant enough but it was very tired and in need of a bit of TLC. The bathroom was very dated, we had dead looking flowers in a vase, the drawers could have done with a clean out, handles where coming off cupboards, one of the wardrobe doors wouldn't shut, there was an iron burn on the carpet, there was a mark or two on the headboard canapé, and water stains down the wall above the dressing table, and the boxed in toilet plumbing needed securing down. Not what you'd expect in an Executive room for an additional cost. In the breakfast room there was a massive dirty big coffee stain in the corner of the back which looked like someone had thrown there coffee down it. To me, glaringly obvious, but it was all these little bits of attention to the housekeeping detail was the only thing that let this hotel down. It just wasn't quite up to scratch in our opinion to match the efficiency of the reception staff, breakfast waitress and bar & restaurant staff. A real shame - hence me giving only 4 stars.

Our room was serviced every morning, well partially! The shower gels would be replenished when we could have used them up the following day , and yet we had to ask for an extra soap as our used one had been taken and not replaced, the loo roll wasn't replaced and neither was the decaf coffee sachets or biscuits. Annoyingly the towels weren't replaced either so we had damp towels one morning as there was nowhere to dry them out. The chocolates we had been given were white and had gone off so we returned them to reception to show them, and only had one mug in the room when it was clearly being occupied by two people. The bathmat a dirty black mark on it, and the bath towels were so small ideally you needed two each, especially when washing your hair as well. The toilet didn't flush well and often needed two flushes, and the bathroom fan annoyingly remained on for about 15 mins after exiting the bathroom. The bathroom could also have done with a shelf or something to put your toiletries on. The shower curtain had mould stains on the bottom of it and could have done with replacing. The shower itself was fantastic. I've never known such a powerful shower in a hotel. It was so forceful it used to spin the shower head round from the power which was difficult to handle and control. There was also an abundance of lovely hot water on tap morning, noon and night, even after many business guests had checked out early and left.

Stupidly we went on booking.com and booked our room for £84.00 including breakfast a night, which we thought was a fab deal, and way cheaper than the Huddersfield a premier inn. Had we done it through the hotel direct it would have £79.00 incl breakfast. Grrrr.

For all the little annoying negatives with the room, which we felt was more a housekeeping issue, this was a lovely hotel and good value for money. I'd prefer to stay here to a Travel Lodge! It had character and a home from home feel, in a very quiet relaxing location. The restaurant food was excellent, as was the service. We very much enjoyed drinks on the sun terrace in the late evening sun after a busy day overlooking the rambling Yorkshire hills.

We will definitely return to this hotel as the pro's did outweigh the cons overall and although a bit out-dated and in need of a cash injection it was priced accordingly in our opinion.

Dear Ju_Lee007

Thank you so much for your review, we are delighted that overall you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to your return.

We have had a few issues within our housekeeping department but have put systems in place to ensure that our standards are maintained. We have also got planned further refurbishment at the site which will include complete new bathroom suites which I am sure will be stunning.
