“Setting new standards!”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

Beautiful meal here for Mother's Day - tasty carvery with proper Yorkshire puds, roasties etc - generous portions - all meals were excellent so we had clean plates all round. Lovely friendly welcome, roaring fire, excellent service so all in all great value. We will be back again soon. Even one of the chefs came round to ask if we enjoyed our meal - always a good sign and not the case in most restaurants. Crossroads Inn you should be very proud of the new standards you are setting and thank you for a lovely Mother's Day!

“Stuck in a time warp”
Reviewed 29 March 2014

The Crossroads is like stepping back in time to the 1980s, with mismatching chairs and dark wood beams one expects garlic mushrooms, sirloin steak and blackforrest gateau to be the staple choice on the menu.
The staff are friendly, if a little less than efficient, and the draught Guinness was served from a can then topped up at the pump !!
Our food was good and plentiful so you do get value for money it's just that with all the competition in the area it will need a significant amount of updating and rebranding to be a success.
It does have a beer garden with a children's play area and the views are stunning.

“Carvery”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

Saw the Carvery sign one Sunday so stopped off- glad we did as the food was delicious and the service attentive and friendly. The place was almost empty but I drove by recently and it looks to be much fuller so maybe it is taking off again. We stayed for dessert too which was lovely.
