One of the tastiest lunches I have had for a long time.. Lambs liver and freshly cooked vegetables. I had to ask to take what in could eat home.. The service and welcome was first class, very helpful when asking about ingredients, due to allergies.
Views over to Castle Hill and the moors is outstanding. Comfortable pub

Service is 2nd to non which never disappoints, along with the food, the character of the pub is fab but could do with a little updating! Saying that we will return!

Since moving to the area i have been trying all the local pubs/restaurants and we have had our best meals by far in this pub.
Proper pub grub as Dave put it ha
Best chips ever!! Great steaks, gorgeous homemade steak and ale pies.

Will more than likely be eating here each week.

There's quite a large area to sit outside in the summer to enjoy the views and a pint.

we have been here quite a few times with it being cheap . we have always had a good meal, the staff are very helpful and were good to get a table sorted for 10 of us even though we hadn't booked and it was a very busy sunday afternoon. the drink prices are reasonable and they have some nice wine. overall a winner

I have been twice in the last month for my lunch so I am already a fan. the place is in a great location with views of castle hill and there are chickens and ducks next to the car park. the dining area is cosy and a little old fashioned which gives a great atmosphere. The service is swift but the real star of the show was the beef and mushroom pie- twice. the tender, succulent meat, and it was mainly meat, was soooo tasty and I could have drunk the gravy on its own. if you eat 12-6 you get a special price. no surprise then that the car park and dining room were full. you may want to book.
