It was our third trip to The Weavers, first Valentines 2012 which was a great night and great food. Second a family party, booked because we had such a good night on valentines, but in both cases it was full and a great atmosphere. However on this third visit, there were only 3 tables full and it was really cold. So much so, I didn't take my coat off. In fairness they do appear to be doing some sort of refurbishment work, which seemed to cause a draught and I am a cold person, but the one girl who was working and running back and forth appeared freezing, so much so she was trying to warm herself by the fire. The food was good, maybe a little bit overpriced for what is, but well cooked, hot and filling food. We did order fish, but apparently they sold out (as I say there were only 3 tables booked?) Think it may be a while before we go back....

If food is the most important thing in an evening out then this restaurant ticks all the boxes.
All of the food we ate was superb however you do pay a premium for it !
BUT we felt it diificult to talk as the place has no atmosphere and you are seated very closely to the next table and that really led to an evening that promised so much but failed to deliver.

In a nutshell we couldn't fault anything with tonight's meal (try as we might).
The service was first rate, friendly and professional (Friday night – large party in as well as us and a few others). The food was nothing short of astonishing quality at £15 for 3 courses on the early evening menu. The Copper Dragon beer (£3/pint) was spot on, the surroundings lovely. House red £15, next up about £18.
We went once several years ago when it was the poncey Weaver's Shed – even half price with a Hi-Life card was top-side; what a change for the better.
Enough gushing, you need to go to find out.

We've eaten at the Weaver's shed on 3 occasions and encountered the same problem each time: the good food is badly let down by poor service from staff who don't seem to care. It's a classic case of all the money being piled into the building and the chefs but no investment in training the right floor staff. It's a shame as the place has the potential to be an iconic venue but it's still missing a key ingredient.

Took advantage of their midweek steak night offer, the food was very good and they kindly allowed to upgrade the wine, the service was also very good, they would have got 5 stars but the place was very quiet and seemed to lack a bit of atmosphere.
