I stayed here very recently for one night. We paid a little under £50 for two people and were given the executive suite. The rooms are modern and homely and the shower is huge! The staff are friendly and accommodating to your needs and the food is lovely too. There's parking across the road and amenities a short walk into the town of kirkburton.

Room Tip: Ask for the woodman suite

on arriving we where rushed too our room with no information.allthough the room was lovely we where on the ground floor & because it was a sunday it was very busy & customers where sitting drinking on the wall outside our window which was very noisy. we wanted too eat there but where told that they do not serve food on sun or bank holidays. as this was a bank hol there was 2 days out of the 3 days we where we could not have food in the evgs .if we had known this we would not have booked. at no time did we have any contact with anyone apart from being served breakfast. there was very little information in the room about what too do in the area & in the booklet it say breakfast is from 7 till 9 mon to fri so on the tues of our stay which was my wifes birthday we did no have breakfast as it was too early. on the weds at breakfast I asked what time do you serve breakfast till & was told 10am. the lady did not know they had changed the breakfast times.if we had been told it might be noisy in this room we would have moved too a different room.we ate at the foxglove nearby which was superb & the staff where very attentive too all our needs.

Room Tip: don't choose a groundfloor front room

We stayed here for 1 night whilst visiting the area. The location is very beautiful and pleasant for a stroll after dinner. The Inn itself has recently been refurbished and is of a good quality.

The room was a decent size with all the little extras you expect these days including free Wifi, the bathroom was spot on with a big sized shower, the only small complaint was the exceptionally small TV.

The bar area is very cosy and homely with a mixture of locals and businessmen. The meal we had was lovely with the food and service both being of a good quality as was the breakfast.

Overall I would definitely recommend the Woodman Inn!

We found this Inn last minute deciding to have one night away for our wedding anniversary. We planned to visit Renishaw Hall Italian Gardens and wanted to stay nearby so that we could travel onto Crosby Beach and see Antony Gormley's cast iron men in the sea on the Sunday. We were absolutely bowled over by the Inn. It was in an idylic quiet location, it was absolutely spotlessly clean and ALL OF THE STAFF were so warm, welcoming and friendly, it just made our stay PERFECT. We were given the Bridal Suite which was a real bonus and a truly beautiful room. We booked a table for dinner and this was sublime. Because it was classed as an Inn and not an hotel, we were not expecting a great deal but this Inn exceeded all of our expectations. We had the MOST FANTASTIC anniversary and WILL DEFINITELY RETURN. There is not one single thing we could fault with the place. The bar had a warm and welcoming feel and all around there were flowers and gorgeous candle arrangements flickering as darkness fell. WOW - romantic or what!

Room Tip: Ask for Room 10 - twin showers and absolutely fantastic. There was NO fitness centre!

Stayed for 1 night could not fault this place. Rooms were beautiful clean and fresh. The staff here were friendly and helpful. The food was fabulous although I would advise booking table in advance for dinner as it's very popular.

It's some years since I last visited The Woodman. A lovely establishment in every way. Beautiful rooms, great food and very good, well kept beer. The Woodman is everything that a traditional British pub should be.
