“A pleasent suprise”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

Stayed at the Woodman Inn for three nights and found the place exceded our expectations. We had a suite on the second floor, it was very good. The young staff were excellent and attentive even though the place was busy. Breakfast was very good and the waitress was tops. Evening meals were delicous and reasonably priced. Wine was excellent. Really well situated for us as my wife was keen to visit Holmfirth nearby were Last of the Summer Wine was based around. Central for many Yorkshire towns. We came up from Essex a the drive was worth every mile. Don't let the address (Hudderrsfield) put you off, its about 10 miles away, this is a country Inn in every sense of the word, lovely surrounding's.
Just two small tips; (a) If you don't like plump firm pillows, take your own. (b) If the sound of foot fall from above would annoy you, ask for a room on the top floor.

We recently attended an amazing wedding at The Woodman Inn. The staff are AMAZING and cannot do enough. Olivia the wedding planner needs a medal as she never stops and goes above and beyond to make the day fantastic. The venue itself is a perfect setting for a romantic wedding and you really feel like nothing is too much. The food was lovely and the beef was delicious. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The only down side is that we didn't want it to end!
Thanks to all the team for making it a great day!

We have recently got married at the woodman inn and both me and my new wife both had an amazing day. The reception space was relaxed and to a high standard. The rooms were modern and very clean. All the staff were polite and couldn't do enough for us. All our guests loved the food, no one had a negative comment to make. We would highly recommend and we will defiantly be going back. Thank you for the best day x

We paid 55 pounds for a double ensuite room on a Monday night, including breakfast. The room we stayed in was lovely - tastefully decorated to a high standard and looked like it had just been refurbished. A staff member told me the hotel had been renovated a few years ago and they have someone coming in every six weeks to check the quality of finishings and touch up rooms - which shows. The en-suite contained a shower only but was spacious, very well fitted out and spotless. Tea-making facilities included some nice biscuits. Opted for the full Yorkshire breakfast in the morning which was very good. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall excellent value for money - would highly recommend.

Been there many times for lunch

Recently re-furbished, this is a lovely pub/restaurant in a great countryside setting.

The menu is extensive and very good value.

Never yet had an unsatisfactory meal yet - give it a try - it's excellent

I stayed here very recently for one night. We paid a little under £50 for two people and were given the executive suite. The rooms are modern and homely and the shower is huge! The staff are friendly and accommodating to your needs and the food is lovely too. There's parking across the road and amenities a short walk into the town of kirkburton.

Room Tip: Ask for the woodman suite

on arriving we where rushed too our room with no information.allthough the room was lovely we where on the ground floor & because it was a sunday it was very busy & customers where sitting drinking on the wall outside our window which was very noisy. we wanted too eat there but where told that they do not serve food on sun or bank holidays. as this was a bank hol there was 2 days out of the 3 days we where we could not have food in the evgs .if we had known this we would not have booked. at no time did we have any contact with anyone apart from being served breakfast. there was very little information in the room about what too do in the area & in the booklet it say breakfast is from 7 till 9 mon to fri so on the tues of our stay which was my wifes birthday we did no have breakfast as it was too early. on the weds at breakfast I asked what time do you serve breakfast till & was told 10am. the lady did not know they had changed the breakfast times.if we had been told it might be noisy in this room we would have moved too a different room.we ate at the foxglove nearby which was superb & the staff where very attentive too all our needs.

Room Tip: don't choose a groundfloor front room
