We have been long time customers of the Street at Brighouse so we thought we would try the new restaurant. This is the second visit I couldn’t leave a comment on the first visit which was a couple of days of them opening. On that visit there were a few teething problems that didn’t detract from the meal so we returned for a second helping.
The food on the first visit was excellent, this is not your usual cheap "Indian" restaurant where you go for a cheap and cheerful curry after a night on the beer if that’s what you expect don’t go here, you will be disappointed.
But if you want fine Pakistani dining here’s the place.
The restaurant is small and intimate with a lovely waiting area upstairs well set out and pleasing where you can have a drink and relax waiting for your table.
We had the Seafood taster x2 to start which was excellent and we split it between the four of us, we then had different mains which were all excellent, if you are used to the al a carte menu at the Brighouse restaurant then this is slightly different with some of the old faithful’s but some new and exciting tastes.
On average £9 for a main course is not excessive and the portions are just right leaving you not too full and uncomfortable.
I note some of the comments re the prices which are cheaper than comparative other dining establishments in the area. Perhaps these people who complain about the price wouldn’t attend these english restaurants expecting to get a burger and chips at Mcdonalds price or perhaps then again they would!!!, well don’t go to the street expecting "cheap" curries just because it is an 'Indian' restaurant.
Their food does the talking for me, and ranks up there with the best and I have eaten curries all over, including true home made curries.
