“Nice little cafe....”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

This is a lovely little cafe, part of a working farm, on the outskirts of Huddersfield on the main A629 road to Sheffield.
It hasn't that many tables inside & get quite busy, especially in the summer & weekends.
In the cafe & shop everything is freshly/home made, locally sourced....soups, hot & cold sandwiches, cakes are on offer as well as the now very famous homemade iced cream which comes in a variety of flavours including some 'seasonal specials'.
The hen's from the farm are scratching about around the place & try to get inside the cafe sometimes......too cute!

“Chocolate night!!”
Reviewed 21 October 2013

Booked in for one of the theme nights - 2 couples. Greeted on arrival and shown to table. 3 courses possible, but looking around at others already served we decided we would only need 2 courses as the servings were substantial. We all went for main and pudding. Three of us had Venison pie with chocolate beer sauce, potato rosti and braised red cabbage, the other one had chicken served with chocolate pasta. Did I say this was a chocolate evening?? All elements of the meal had a nod to chocolate. The Venison pie was lovely and the cabbage to die for!!
Puddings (should I say deserts?) were 2 each of the dark chocolate cheesecake and chocolate fudge cake both with ice-cream - what else!! The menu said that the cheesecake came with white chocolate and cherry ice-cream but there was no problem changing for another flavour - we had plum and dark chocolate. Wine and beers of our choice during the night rounded off a great evening. The staff were pleasant, polite and accommodating throughout the evening.
2 minor downsides on the atmosphere were that, 1. the tables could have done with tablecloths to lift it from a cafe experience, and 2. there was a table of 10 on a birthday party who were rather loud, but can't be put at the feet of the venue.
Overall an excellent experience!! Roll on the next theme night - I was too late for the bonfire night tickets!!

“Fantastic Food and Service”
Reviewed 13 October 2013

Another excellent experience at our local Yummy Yorkshire. The new menu did not disappoint - tasty Piri-Piri Chicken and Brisket sandwiches served with a smile. The Cappuccino is the best in Yorkshire and although the staff are always really busy they never fail to serve the delicious food quickly. The earlier opening times really suit us -The best Bacon Butty you could eat from 9.00 on Sunday mornings!! The homemade cakes are a dream and coupled with the most exquisite ice-creams I can honestly recommend this venue to everyone.
