Description: Based in the heart of the Pennines on the West/South Yorkshire border, Yummy Yorkshire makes the most delicious artisan ice cream using fresh milk from its own Holstein herd combined with ingredients sourced as close to their Yorkshire farm as possible. The innovative ice cream producer has achieved great things since it first opened its doors in 2007. Yummy Yorkshire is the proud owner of 18 Guild of Fine Foods Great Taste Awards. The farms rustic ice cream parlour has recently been extended to create a stunning new 80 seater restaurant 'The Hide & Hoof' which is stylishly decorated in keeping with the farms history with milking cluster lights and tractor seat bar stools. The ice cream parlour, 'The Parlour' has also been given an uber cool overhaul and the Hayloft seating area has been created with views across West & South Yorkshire. The restaurant and parlour are open every day from 9am until 6pm and late in the restaurant on a Saturday from 7pm with an a la carte menu.

First visit and not quite what i expected. No menus on the tables i had to wait with people ordering food to obtain one.Chose hot pork sandwich from main menu and after queuing to order i was told there was no roast pork available so i had to return to my table to revisit menu.Returned to counter again to reorder the food arrived promptly and was very good though had to request condiments as they were not on table either? As the food was so good we decided to have a desert and had to wait again at food counter behind people ordering food for a desert menu which waitress had to find from a back room? Some very delicious sounding sundaes but feeling a little full just wanted to sample a selection from the wide range of flavoured ices.I would have expected at an icecream parlour that if sitting inside scoops of your choice of icecream flavours could have been purchased priced per scoop and served in a glass dish of some sort it appear that the only option was a paper tub with one or two scoops?Perhaps being my first visit a didn't fully get an understanding of the service system and menu. One other little niggle was how heavy the wooden chairs were to move especially for more elderly people and having to visit the food counter so many times seeking menus.

Thank you for your comments and we are sorry that your first visit was a bit dysfunctional. We do keep the menus on the front counter but we do this as we have menu changes through the day so it helps us to ensure that the right menus are in the right place. However we are going through a significant change with our menus so that everything is in one binder and they can be dotted around the parlour so hopefully that will overcome that issue.

There is an option to create your own sundae and these are served in silver buckets maybe you would prefer this next time. We serve over 400 ice creams a day and many people wander outside with these to enjoy the space we have in the garden or the patio so we serve ice cream in tubs for those that don't want a cone. However, if you would prefer a glass dish please ask and we will be happy to do that for you. Please be assured you can have as many scoops as you wish.

We visited last week with the family for a breakfast visit as we'd heard they were good. We had three little ones with us aged between 2 and 7, very family friendly and we we're made to feel really welcome. We knew this was a breakfast treat so the grown ups had a full breakfast which was delicious and the kids had porridge with Belgian chocolate and beans on toast.
The handmade shortbread served with the coffee is delightful, so much so I wish you could buy some to take away. We did not sample that day but the selection of handmade cakes looked amazing and of course not forgetting the ice cream, which we did sample later in the day. Kids enjoyed a play on the bouncy castle, a dig in the sand and a race on the ride on
tractors. Of course they also loved visiting the cows with their babies next door. We will definitely visit again to sample the cake! Thanks guys

We attended a 2nd birthday party at Yummy Yorkshire and were very impressed. Not only did the children get a visit from Camilla the cow, they were also allowed to choose their own ice cream in animal designed mugs (to take home). The party tea consisted on sandwiches and crisps and could have, in my opinion, have offered a few carrot or cucumbers sticks maybe. The party host had paid an additional £20 so the children were allowed to climb in and out of a tractor which they loved. I would recommend this as a venue.

A wide range of ice cream flavours including a variety of more exciting ones eg beet root. Friendly staff to serve you as quickly as they can as everything is freshly made to order. Super place for children with farm based activities, there was a bouncy castle this weekend. Sells takeaway ice cream to stock your freezer.
