Home cooked food at very reasonable prices and having lunched there on many occasions I have never been disappointed. There is a selection of real ales which are perfectly kept. All in all very satisfying.

Generally you get what you pay for, right?... however, The Croppers Arms is a notable exception to this rule. Having eaten here on many occasions one can see why it is also popular with businessmen and tradesmen who choose to stay over. In the quality versus value for money stakes the fare the Croppers serves simply CANNOT be beaten... period!. Simply prepared, well cooked wholesome food serving quality meats with tasty gravy - exceptional. You will be made welcome whether dropping by for just a pint or a hearty meal. Forget the chains (Toby, Brewers, et al) this place knocks spots off 'em for value. Highly recommended.

Had Sunday lunch here. Very average food, I had salmon with Hollandaise sauce which looked more like a lump of congealed custard, my friend had steak pie which contained some tough gristly meat. The women on the bar needs to brush up on her customer relations skills, she was not very pleasant at all. All in all not an experience I will be repeating

Had pate for starter and it was a huge portion. Served with two slices of white bread cut in half, butter and salad. Far too much for a starter. Pate was tasty, but bread was just cheap sliced white bread. Main of Mexican chicken was bizarre. Butterfly chicken breast with THAI chilli sauce liberally poured over and sloshing around the plate. About as Mexican as a bacon butty. Had it with salad and garlic bread as only choice in potatoes was roast or chips. Garlic bread was three pieces of soggy french stick. Not impressed.
