People who have not been to a theatre think its not for them, visit Lawence Batley, and see one of the many differring shows they put on, something for most peoples tastes. Even the Huddersfield Giants Rugby Team take part in panto there, hilarious, but often sold out. Go along and see how much you enjoy it.

For a mid sized theatre it has a great range of performances from regular monthly comedy to contemporary dance- beautiful building tastefully renovated with walls adorned with local artist work- staff are friendly some of them volunteers, a great space used for many things - choirs- youth theatre- writing groups etc. all in all its a super night out and value for money.

Attended on Saturday to see The Producers, we have been to the cellar bar for comedy evening before and enjoyed that. The LBT is a smashing venue, well run with terrific, hard working, attentive staff and we should be very proud of having it!
If there is a better way of spending 3 hours on a Saturday evening, then I have yet to see it. The cast were fantastic, REALLY fantastic, and my group all had a brilliant time - we will be going again, be sure of that.

The BT in Huddersfield is such a great venue with lots to offer. A very indepth website gives all the information you need to know (see thelbt.org). A detailed calendar of What's On, as well as production info and ticket costs. So much to choose from - live performance, dance, music, even film screening of recent releases and the classics. Prices are very reasonable and the box office runs efficiently with friendly staff. I come here at least one a month and it's always straight forward from booking my ticket to turning up and enjoying the show, There is a bar service - prices aren't too high considering it's a theatre bar - and you can pre-order your drinks for the interval. If you aren't familar with Huddersfield then it is best to park in the Market Hall car park (nearest to the Town Hall). The theatre is then only a 3 minute walk away, taking the steps down to the ring road and following the road to the left you will see signs to the theatre.

There's always something to do or see at the Lawrencce Batley Theatre. Plays, music, local groups and best of all, comedy. We most recently saw Paul Sinha there and laughed all the way through. I'd definitely go and see him again if he comes back. Next will be Mark Thomas on the 30th November
