“A hidden treasure!”
Reviewed 28 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

This little cottage is just as represented. Hidden in a wood, away from the hustle and bustle of city life and surrounded by amazing countryside. It is well equipped, full of beautiful antiques and warm, and the hosts very welcoming. Everything related to the house, amenities and ease of booking exceeded expectations, which were high.

The only negative is the access road which is very narrow. On the flip side, this is what makes the cottage so delightfully isolated!

Thank you! We will return!

Thank you for your generous comments. We appreciate that our access (an ancient pack horse route) can be daunting to some, but it has been negotiated without problems by ambulances and we offer to tow/help anyone in the rare event that they encounter difficulties. We have a 4x4 jeep.
Regards,
Vicky

“comfortable cottage in idyllic setting”
Reviewed 12 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Tyas Cottage was a haven of peace and tranquility with all home comforts and beautiful shared garden. There are loads of possibilities for walking in the area, directly from the cottage, with numerous watering holes to be found en route. The Rose and Crown, a 15 minute walk uphill from the cottage provided good value food, local beers and friendly service. Varied scenery around with great views of nearby small towns of Slaithwaite and Marsden, both well provided with good cafes and pubs plus terrific local bakery in Slaithwaite. A previously unknown area surpassed all expectations.

“Magical Merrydale”
Reviewed 15 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This is the most wonderful hideaway and is an experience in itself as you never want to leave. The cottage is beautifully situated in a magnificent valley, removed from the stresses of life but only minutes away from lovely villages with plenty of amenities. It is beautifully and tasteful furnished, spacious and comfortable, with lots of lovely outside places to sit if you are lucky enough to have the weather as we did. The gardens are magnificent and a credit to the owners who have put so much love into this masterpiece, it is an art form in it's own right. The water on all sides, the natural fresh springs and meditation or reflection pods by the pond will guarantee relaxation. The only negative experience I had was leaving!

This is not just a place to stay while you go off and have experiences elsewhere, it is an experience in itself - the cottage, the setting, the wondrous garden and most of all the tranquility.,

I'm always grateful for generous reviews, but, at the risk of "looking a gift horse in the mouth", it is odd that this one ends with a comma. Perhaps it was meant to continue but something went wrong........Thank you anyway!
