Description: Apadana is the one and only Persian restaurant in Huddersfield and surrounding. Apadana has recreated the beauty and warmth of Iran in a friendly and enjoyable environment. Apadana is located in central Huddersfield, No 9 Railway Arches , Viaduct street opposite Tesco's petrol station. Persian cuisine refers to the traditional and modern styles of cooking related to Iran. The Iranian culinary style is unique to Iran, though has historically both influenced and has been influenced by Iran's neighbouring regions at various stages throughout its history. Persian recipes have improved over the centuries to bring out a unique taste out of the freshest and finest ingredients that are used in making Iranian food. Typical Persian main dishes are combination of rice with meat, lamb, chicken, or fish and some onion, vegetables, nuts, and herbs. To achieve a balanced taste, characteristic Persian flavourings such as saffron, dried limes, cinnamon, and parsley are mixed delicately and used in some special dishes. Many foods famously associated with Middle Eastern, and indeed World cuisine have their origins in Iran, such as our most famous dish : Kabab. Ranging from Chelow Kabab, kabab-e barg, Joojeh (chicken) Kabab and Ghafghazi. These are all served with rice and fresh herbs and could be accompanied with Mast-o-musir or Shirazi salad; to get a true taste of Iran. Also our stews each have their individual taste and flavour. Vegetarian stews are also available and will be served with rice or chips.

Not sure any more. How much is just bought-in? Obviously the bread, as it’s only £1. The starter my Mrs had couldn’t be altered so either they make loads up of it’s out of a tub. Then you get to doubting everything else. Just not that fresh-tasting given there was only one other table in.
Maybe an off-day.
Also specify which wine accurately, there were two Merlots and I got the wrong one – it was poor.
Still cheap though.

This is my favourite little restaurant in Huddersfield. I love Arabic and Persian food and used to live in Iran as a child so was so pleased when this opened up.
The menu isn't huge but the food is delicious. We have have tried most of the starters, most of the mains and a few side dishes. The best (for us) are 2 of the specials, the lamb shanks and the fish. We also loved the saffron ice cream.
It's extremely good value for money, we absolutely love the food and have brought friends and family here when they visit.

We visited this restaurant last Saturday there was a group of 12, the food was amazing we all tried something different and everyone said how much they enjoyed it, some never ever trying Persian food before, I mentioned to the manager that the service was a little slow but the waitress was very nice so is forgiven, but only because the food was so delicious and we will be going back again, well done keep up the excellent standards.

Went here on 10th May. Didn't book but they made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious. It isn't spicy but very flavoursome. We shared a starter Halimbademjan, an aubergine based dish with herbs and mint and a nan bread, delicious. I had sweet and sour chicken with rice and my partner had lamb kebabs 2 ways also with rice and a side salad. My dish was different to the usual sweet and sour, less sweet and fruity based sour (pomegranate?), again it was delicious and I would definitely eat here again. The staff were very friendly and didn't rush people. A lovely evening. We had a lovely bottle of house red wine and the total bill was under £40.
