“Huddersfield is preparing for 'le Tour'”
Review of Huddersfield

Huddersfield
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Pot holes in roads are being repaired and every little detail of the route has been planned in minute detail. The town centre of St George's Square will host a memorable day of coverage on large screens for pedestrians while camp sites and viewing platforms are springing up beside the town itself.

I really like Huddersfield & have lived there a couple of times in the past. Historic buildings, good shopping, with lots of independent retailers & a vibrant nightlife due to its large student population.

Huddersfield gets a lot of stick, but its got lots of Independent shops along with the usual brands. Friendly place and lots of interesting and historical places to go. Give it a try!

Lots of places to eat and drink, pleanty of shops that are not all spread out so you don't have to walk miles to get from one place to another. Although quite hilly so this may affect people who stuggle with waking

No real tourist trap just a stunning historical market town, fabulous architecture, friendly multicultural people, thriving town centre, diverse cultural festivals and events, great park and close to the countryside. Chuck out the guide book because Huddersfield isn't in there, perhaps that is what is so charming and unexpected
