We stayed over after a wedding do, room was on ground floor, large enough for the two of us, en-suite bath a tad small, bed was lovely, decor a bit jaded but what the heck, was a bed for the night. Breakfast included, full English very nice, plenty of choice of cereals and jams etc. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Only complaint, a lack of lighting in the corridors, lots of spotlights used, but not many working, makes it difficult to see lock.
Other than that, nice place.

I have stayed here on 2 occasions since December, mainly to meet friends for a night out. The first time there was just me (Dec) and I had a room at the back (reduced road noise) and was fine for myself. Car parking was fine and check in was ok. Small room with double bed, tv, and shower over bath. Breakfast next morning was served as requested. Only Buffet items were cereals.
2nd visit late Feb was with my husband and the room was at the front of the hotel with some road noise, though I could live with it. The room was very small!!The bed was dreadful, too soft and had seen better days. We also were unable to switch the tv off via the remote when leaving to go out for the night. Small bathroom, with dripping shower over the bath.
Bar area in hotel pleasant but small. Located next to Da Sandros Italian restaurant where we ate. This was busy, and though a reservation was made we had to wait way over our booked time. Food was just average. Breakfast this time was mainly buffet, with eggs cooked to order by the kitchen, so slight improvement on last visit.
Would I stay again? Probably not as I have subsequently stayed at the Premier Inn in Hudds Central for little more money and a far better experience.

Room Tip: Room at the back of the hotel

If you are visiting Huddersfield you can't go wrong with this hotel. The rooms although not the biggest they are well appointed very clean and comfortable.
The breakfast is one of the best I have tasted with a fabulous selection.

Staff are great and a credit to the hotel.

This hotel is good value. The service provided by their staff is excellent. All staff members we spoke to were very helpful and very polite. The beds are very comfy too!

I've stayed at better hotels. This hotel is average, I had a choice of staying here or the cedar court, but I chose this because of the better reviews. The attached italian restaurant had good food, parking was a plus, road noise was a negative. The room was small, tv was tiny 14 inch, some sky channels were freezing up due to bad reception. The receptionist gave off the impression that he didn't have time for you, and appeared rude. I'll be staying at cedar court next time I'm in Huddersfield, at least they've got a leisure centre. Breakfast was average.

Room Tip: a room at back of hotel for less traffic noise. or alternatively stay at the Cedar court hotel.

Having clocked up 20 overnight stays here in the last 18 months for business I probably know this hotel almost as well as the staff! It's not a top end hotel - if thats what you are expecting then think about the price you are paying! What it does is offer is a good value, no frills room, great breakfast with friendly staff and a very convenient and efficient Italian restaurant.

Others have commented about the noise from the road - yes - get one of the rooms at the back. The other tip is look at the restaurant menu (there's one in the room) there are some early bird deals available if you dont object to an early evening meal.

Room Tip: Back of the hotel

I stayed at the Briar Court Hotel recently on business. The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable. What impressed me most was the friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to help.

The hotel is easy to get to and well located. I would certainly use it again if work brought me to this area again.
