“Good service”
Reviewed 7 July 2013

My husband and I booked into this hotel with my parents. Parking was plentiful and service was good when we checked in. The hotel was very hot however that was to be expected as it was the hottest day of the year! The rooms were average, tea and coffee, plus good toiletries. Found a few hairs on the chair which weren't mine and the shower didn't look the best but not unusable! The bed was ok but I think a replacement mattress is needed as we could feel the springs! Breakfast was good, a nice choice of food. Overall a satisfactory stay at a good price. Would stay again if needed to.

Just returned from our second stay at the Briar Court Hotel - we first stayed in November last year and were impressed, so as we had some business in Huddersfield this was the obvious choice.

The staff are all very friendly, and it was reassuring to see familiar faces from our last stay. We had a standard double room and, while not huge, it was comfortable and spotlessly clean (they even passed my "dust on the bedside lightbulb" test - not many do!). We had asked for a quiet room without stairs and were allocated a room on the ground floor at the back of the hotel - perfect! It's another plus point for this hotel, as they clearly had read, understood and acted on our request.

Breakfast at the Briar Court is excellent - good portions, freshly cooked and piping hot (no lukewarm buffet with limp fried eggs here). The service is prompt, efficient and friendly.

This is a great little hotel, handy for the M62 and Huddersfield centre. There's a large (free) car park and Da Sandros Italian restaurant right next door.

You would have to go a long way to find a better hotel at such a reasonable price - at £50 for a double room and excellent breakfast I think it is great value, and we'll be back in October.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms at the back.

The Briar Court is a very well kept clean and comfortable hotel. The staff are friendly and professional and very helpful. It lies just off the M62 with good links to the motorway network. You can take a bus from opposite the hotel right into the centre of Huddersfield.

Breaking away from my usual branded hotel, a business trip took me here... and all was very good. A roomy lounge area, a bowl of sweets at reception, and staff who were willing to help. The room was comfortable, and everything was in working order. The adjacent Italian restaurant is great.

We held our wedding here and it couldn't have been more amazing. The whole day went smoothly from start to finish and this was down to the hardwork of all the staff. The food was excellent and the whole of the hotel was spotless. We couldn't speak highly enough about Briar court, they helped to make it truly unforgettable and all our guests said it was 'the best wedding ever'!

I have stayed here on business a couple of times now, it's very handy for the M62 corridor between Leeds and Manchester being only a few minutes from the motorway.

Reception is extremely friendly and quick, I had my key inside 2 minutes.

The room was very nice, comfortable bed, a work desk, free wi-fi and the bathroom was spacious with a good shower. The only issue with this otherwise super little hotel is the heating, when the radiators come on it sounds like a steam train (in both rooms I have stayed in) - surely this is an easy fix?

Didn't have dinner at the hotel but they do bar snacks and will get food over for you from the Italian restaurant next door, the bar area is nice.

Breakfast is probably the best I have ever had at an hotel, plentiful, beautifully cooked & presentd and piping hot.

Overall a very nice small hotel with lovely staff, fix the plumbing and it would be perfect!

Room Tip: Ask for the back of the hotel, those on the front can be a bit noisy from the busy road.
