This hotel has the potential to have been very good and I would currently award it 3.5 if that was possible. The location is away from the town centre, but close to the motorway. The room, whilst a little small, was clean, nicely decorated, and had a powerful hairdryer, and included, tv, kettle, trouser press etc. Its strongest point was how comfortable the bed was, I slept very well!

However, its weakest point is its bath/shower, which was small, uncomfortable and only just fit for purpose. During the weekend, the hotel hosts weddings, but that shouldn't detract one from staying there. I am not sure if the hotel was short staffed, but the receptionists also ran the bar (or so it seemed) and you sometimes had to wait a little while.

The hotel was good value as we got a good deal, but not sure I would pay the going rate.

Staff were helpful and despite a wedding part being in it wasn’t noisy. Good alternative to a Premier Inn or similar.

Stayed in a refurbed room which was very nice. The bedroom was better than the bathroom; a warning message about too much steam setting off the fire alarm in the room (fit a better extractor fan!) and the arm on the shower was a bit short meaning you have to stand close to the wall. However, the rest of the room was completely satisfactory and clean.

stayed here for the first time in a while, rooms have been upgraded, kingsize beds, better tv's etc, shower not cold, but cold have been hotter. Staff very welcoming and friendly, Breakfast is very good, value for money is excellent and Da Sandro, Italian restaurant next door (you can charge to your room) is great, Tuesday night, place was buzzing with large groups, families, workers and the food was spot on, still plenty of tables to accommodate single diners like me, service was very good, and decent prices. would give it a 4.5 if I could

Room Tip: poached eggs for breakfast are great!

I stayed here one night for business. Spacious, clean room. Excellent, professional service at reception. Decor downstairs and in corridors perhaps slightly dated, but clean. Would recommend to other business travellers.

Stayed here for the first time at the weekend with friends. We had 2 rooms for 2 nights . The hotel has undergone a major overhaul apparently and it shows ... Rooms are a good size and very clean with very comfortable beds .. All linens are high quality . Staff are very friendly also .. We thought it was very good value for money and would use it again.
