We visited on Saturday to mark a special occasion and were so glad we'd chosen to eat there again. Past visits have been enjoyed and the food is delicious, but I have to say I think this was the best yet. If I'm being churlish, I'd just say that we had requested a particular table and this booking was messed up. We were told it was a table for 4 and, as we were only 2, we could only be seated there if it wasn't too busy on the day. We arrived to find another couple (only 2 of them) already seated there. But that's my only complaint - the rest was superb. Burger to die for (in the top 3 I've ever eaten!) and my partner's roast beef with Yorkshire pud drew great sighs of appreciation from the other side of the table too. But it was the pudding that was even more memorable. We decided to treat ourselves to the grande assiette of puddings - a little taster version of pretty much everything on the desset menu. Everything, without exception, was gorgeous and we had a very happy time sharing it. Wine was nice, service was good, surroundings were cosy and all in all, it was a really successful outing. Lovely spot for special occasions.
